Monotheism is the true belief in the God of Abraham which is why Jews and Muslims do not believe in the Trinity.

The belief that a diety can be three separate entities AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME is considered to be Polytheism.

"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism.

By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism. This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault. The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.

The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God. These pagans must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)

Christians generally do not understand even THAT much about Islam.

So when they bash it, it is only because it is different and therefore wrong.

Ignorance.

Monotheism - meaning One God.
Polythgeism - Many Gods.

As for the Trinity,
Belief in the Trinity does not denote that there is a belief as well in 3 Gods. The 3 persons of the Trinity are DISTINCT. However, the 3 are equally the same exact ONE God. Therefore belief in the Trinity is not polytheism as there is only ONE God involved.

Are you referring to the Dark Ages? If so, know that during the Dark Ages, the Roman Empire was losing a lot of land to the Barbarians and Rome was sacked many times. In order to regain the land, the Emperors sent what was left of the legions to reconquer the land and in order to protect Rome from future attacks.

Some of the soldiers in the army happened to be Christian converts and when they entered territories that were reconquered, they converted the barbarians (who were pagans) into Christians. However at times there was abuse by these soldiers and the Church and Pope condemned these acts.

Mary is the greatest saint who has ever lived. However, she is not to be worshipped. Worship is reserved for God as it is the HIGHEST form. Mary along with the saints are to be respected, yes. Honored, yes. Mary is venerated, yes. But worshipped? Mary cannot be worshipped by Christians despite her status as the greatest saint because worship, as I said, is only for the One True God. There is NOTHING that MARY or the other saints could have done that could EQUAL what God has done for humanity.

and to answer the main question,
Christians in general should not hate Muslims. I don't hate them. Muslims ARE people as well. But if someone acted like an @$$ towards me or anyone, regardless of their religion, I don't think you'd like them either.^_^

God Bless,

Most American Christians don't have enough understanding of these issues to even know what you are talking about, I'm afraid. They would certainly be flabbergasted to hear that anyone thinks that God the Father, God The Son, and God the Holy Spirit are not all ONE GOD, as well as three Gods. It's a mystery, you'll understand when you die. Yes, that's what I was taught. Regardless of how utterly illogical it sounds, there is no American Christian who believes they worship three Gods. And if they don't believe they do, then they don't, do they?

It's all just silly semantics.

It would be most interesting for Americans to understand how Islam developed and how welcoming of Jews and Christians Mohammed was.

Mary and the saints are not part of the trinity. In fact anyone who has faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is a saint. Saint in the New Testament simply meant believers. What is so hard to believe God can reveal Himself to us in three persons? What do you think He is not powerful enough to do it? God is one. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one, the one true God. Let's look at water for an example. It can show its self in three different states, water, ice, and steam, yet does it not still hold the same properties. This is the same of the trinity, and how God reveals Himself to man. Forgive us for believing in a personal God that loves us.

Yahood,

Your post is in complete error, of couse and as usual.

Regarding your question....

"Do Christians bash Islam because Monotheism is so Threating to the Trinity ? "

Christians don't HAVE to "bash" Islam because Islam bashes itself.....

LIKE what Islam did on 9/11.

By the way, Yahood: the world knows your religion is based on the epileptic hallucinations of your false prophet Mohammed.

The flaw in your argument is that "the trinity" has nothing to do with Christianity either. Read Acts Chapter 2 and John Chapter 14 if you are curious about what Christianity is at the core.

Not true, Yahood:

You will find two types of people bashing Islam:

#1: Agnostics who belittle anything that falls short of their ideaology. Why do they do this? It provides a sense of self-worth and complacency in their delusions.

#2: Christians who have the love of God and believe in Jesus so strong that they risk being insulted for sharing their faith.

The Bible says: "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee" (Proverbs 9:8).

That is why I speak of errors in both Christians and Muslims, to restore them to the Truth.

One site reproves Christians: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

For Muslims: www.revelado.org/islam.htm

Actually, Christian call themselves Monotheists or Abrahamic Religion even though they believe in the Trinity. I don't get it.

Christians are strictly monotheistic. Jesus' teachings were clear on this point. We're not at all threatened by monotheism. If you'd like to discuss Islam and Christianity openly and honestly, I'd invite you e-mail me.

God has told us that his word will last forever. Since we disagree on what constitutes scripture, one of us is wrong. It is not too late to embrace God's truth.

Christians bash Islam because a bunch of Muslim hijacked four airplanes and crashed them into buildings killing thousands of Americans. It has nothing to do with Monotheism.

Heh. The only one's worried about the Trinity are those who dont believe in it. It really doesn't come up much around Christians, though sometimes it does. They want to share the latest analogy that they heard somewhere.
