God is worthy of our worship.
Psalm 100:4-5, NIV. "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations."

In the first of His Ten Commandments, God claims first place in our hearts and worship.
Exodus 20:3, NIV. "You shall have no other gods before me."

God is worthy of our first and best love, adoration and praise.
Matthew 4:10, NIV. "Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

Jesus taught that we are to devote all of our energies and dedication to God first and foremost.
Mark 12:30, NIV. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." In His prayer in Gethsemane, He set the example for us of setting God's will above our own deepest desires. It's in the Bible. Luke 22:42, NIV. "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

Romans 1:20, NIV. "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

Genesis 1:26, TLB. "Then God said, 'Let us make a man—someone like ourselves, to be the master of all life upon the earth and in the skies and in the seas.' " Psalm 8:3-6, TLB "When I look up into the night skies and see the work of Your fingers—the moon and the stars You have made—I cannot understand how You can bother with mere puny man, to pay any attention to him! And yet You have made him only a little lower than the angels, and placed a crown of glory and honor upon his head. You have put him in charge of everything You made; everything is put under his authority."

I hope that there is something amongst these texts that may help.
God Bless.

Try Psalms 95:6
Psalms 97:7 Isaiah 27:13 Matthew 4:9 Luke 4:7
1 Corinthians 14:25

I'm not doing TOO bad for an Atheist, am I ?

Sorry I cheated - I actually picked up a Bible and turned to the Concordance in the back.

I particularly like Romans 1:25 where it says "worship the creature, rather than the creator"

But hey! To each his own.

You have to look for it. Reading the entire Bible is really a good idea if you want to be a Christian. You see, your question is a lot like those Atheists who have trouble finding their butt with scripture ( figuratively, of course.)

So if you want to read the Old Testament as well as the New. You will find verses that show that God reacted to certain forms of worship, especially prayer.

A few examples:
1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Colossians 1:19
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

You see, certain things please God. He doesn't have to defend it, it's just the way He is.

If you want to get serious in finding out what pleases God, listen to what Jesus says:
John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

He's a good one to listen to!

Get a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. I have one but I am not going to look it up. It says several places to worship God.
It says, Worship God with all your might. Let everything that hath breath worship God. Present ourselves a living sacrifice , which is a reasonable service.I know scripture and could find it but I can't remember where the verses are.I recommend going on down to the Bible book store.Or check CBD.com

John 4:23 it says "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him".

Psalms 22:27 it says "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee".

Psalms 66:4. It says "All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing [to] thy name".

We were chosen by Him as a royal priesthood to praise and worship Him. I Peter 2:9 says "But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light".

Try the World Wide Study Bible webpage.

http://www.ccel.org/wwsb/

It has a keyword look up and it has a couple of different translations to run your search through. I alway liked Romans 12: 1-2 and but I don't think that is it.
