As long as they are not huge meals, you should be fine and make sure they are healthy and nutricious. Good luck.

If I were you I'd consider do I really need to or do I just want to lose weight. If you'd like to lose weight that's fine, but it's a gradual process. If loosing weight becomes an obsession it could lead to other problems, prime example is anxiety or development of eating disorders. To stray away from these or be less likely to have high anxiety it's wise to eat more than three times a day. Eating more often means your body has enough energy all day without robbing you of low energy, fatigue, and even curbs your cravings or desire to eat more. I think mini-meals are great and it keeps one in more control, you're less likely to overeat. When one undereats it makes you want to eat more the next time food is around for you to eat.
Possibilities
one, two, or three food items for breakfast
a combination like crackers and cheese, cheese and fruit, or yogurt and fruit
two or three food items for lunch
Lunch should be your largest meal of the day, 400-600 or 650 calories
two or three food items for supper
Plus one treat either after supper, later, or perhaps you may choose in the afternoon.
My favorite treats are strawberries dipped in chocolate, maybe some ice cream or a cookie or two, fruit sundaes (fruit rather than ice cream, but with the toppings), apple slices topped with cinnamon and cheese on a tortilla, I like whole wheat ones
P.S. I began being interested in health, food, and nutrition when I was about 12 years old, seeing that my mom's side of the family has had continuing health problems. I went to college, graduated with honors and am a health educator and wellness coordinator. I absolutely love being able to advocate and help others in maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. I am also a freelance writer and often write on the subject!
Please, please, don't obsess, the more you obesses the more problems are likelier to occur.

It is more about the sizing and the time of day .
The recommendation is to eat the larger meals before activities happen ( breakfast and lunch ) then scale down the volumes when you are going to be sitting around or going to bed .

I won't tell you don't need to lose weight because I don't know. I will tell you to speak to your doctor rather than seeking misinformed advice here.
