We all know what condemnation feels like. Conviction is sort of like the same thing without the guilt. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. This means that He makes us aware that we are sinning so that we will quit sinning. Some people would call this our conscience.

" Being convicted" means to become acutely aware of a temptation leading to sin, or a sin which is being committed, or a sin that was already acted out. I used to work in a bar as a bartender, even though I was a Christian. I had my logical reasons, such as I had three kids to feed and bills to pay, but the whole time I worked, I felt this sense of guilt or of wrong-doing, like I was contributing to alcoholism, and that I was a hypocrite by not living according to what the Lord had taught me. The worst conviction I had was that I was trying to fix my financial problems in my own way and not trusting God to lead me to a more respectable job. The conviction in my heart made me miserable living with myself, until I finally confessed, repented,( turned away from my sins) and placed my trust in God. After that, the heaviness of conviction was gone, knowing that I was once more back on the right track and in the will of God.

Do you know God's 10 Commandments ? It's God's moral law. And it's still aply today. So when you reflect your sin, e.g ; when you lied, when you hate someone (1 John 3:15), when you put something else more important than God (first commandment), etc; the Holly spirit will convict your heart. You will feel guilty and you know that you need the Savior to save you from hell.
Conviction come when you acknowledge your sin, then you repent (turn away from sin) and put your trust in Jesus.
When someone witness, is not him/her that will bring someone to Christ. It's the Holly Spirit's job to convict their heart. We're just the tool to send God's message.

If you feel convicted over a certain thing in your life, it means you feel you are not doing what you should be on your walk with God.
Say, you smoke and are a Christian, you may feel convicted to stop.
Say you are a Pentecostal woman and you wear a pair of slacks, you may feel convicted to not do so.
Say you do anything that you feel is not right in God's eyes, you may feel that it is not proper as you become more fervently faithful to God, so there for you have been convicted!

Being convicted - i can't get a hold on that.
Having convictions - your core beliefs - ones that are so strong you will always act on them and never question them.
Every person, christian or not will have a slightly different version - no 2 people can ever think the same or act the same -if they did - they would be the same person - and in BODY - there is only one of each of us.

It relies upon on the place you're. right here in California they are in a separate grouping, with different "specific situation" prisoners. they are divided by utilising area and numerous partitions from the final inhabitants, and that 'specific grouping' undergoes a very extreme point of scrutiny from the guards. They actually have no privateness. The communities are in no way greater than approximately 20-25, so which you will not have those milling around crowd scenes hiding stabbings and assaults. that is all third hand, as I have been given the account from my former pal's sister, yet next learn looks to ascertain this, a minimum of right here.

Being convicted by the Holy Spirit is simply feeling that "ughh" feeling in your gut for a sin/sins you've committed. It's God's way of saying,"Hey, you're doing something that's going to hurt you and it's going to affect our relationship. You need to repent of this so you can remain in right relationship with me." It's God's way of getting us to come to Him.
Guilt and condemnation, on the other hand, are not from God but the devil and will seek to drive us away from God instead of to God. These things cause us to feel defeated and hopeless.

It means that you are being prompted by the Holy Spirit to repent of sin.

In John 16:7-8 Jesus says
" But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (the Holy Spirit) will not come to you, but if I go, I will send Him to you,
And He, when He comes will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment."

Hope this helps.
