Where did you get the 7 from ? I think it was fewer than that, and even then they didn't actually see or know him personally, it was just what they were "told".
If you came back to Earth in a coupleof hundred years' time (about the time frame that was involved in the Jesus story-telling), I can almost GUARANTEE that there will be literally thousands of people (and lots of physical "evidence") that Superman actually existed - videos, comic books, superman suits, movies, etc, etc,
Even if you don't "follow" the story of Superman, almost everyone has seen the Christopher Reeve versions of the movie, and almost the whole world knows that he was shot into space by Jor-El and Lara just as Krypton exploded, and that he was adopted by Ma and Pa Kent in Smallville, Kansas, and went to work in a "great metropolitan newspaper" as Clark Kent, and that he was "faster than a speeding bullet, and more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound...."
Another "good" story ??

I have to say that Socrates is seen in history as having a birthday and a date of death, something that Jesus does not have. Jesus never had a birth day and the day of his fictional death is also never mentioned. But the way to understand what was Jesus is to learn about why he was composed in the first place. This is in Roman history, and to shorten this story, the Roman aristocrats and some royals had become concerned about so many slaves and other ignorants of the masses joining Judaism. In the mid 60sCE there were about twenty thousand Judeans living outside of Judea and about ten percent of that number were living in and around Rome. The Romans were concerned about the new recruits possibly being conscripted into the army of the Pharisees which would present a major problem for Rome. The Romans decided that they had to have a way to weaken Judaism as that was where the Judeans were getting their belief that they could over power Rome,. They came up with the idea to make a new religion that would be or seem to be passive; 'turn the other cheek'. They stole the god of the Judeans and wrote the NT story that Jesus was born of that god in their attempt to trick the Judeans to believe that Jesus was from their god. This naturally did not succeed. Jesus was a composite character placed into a fictional story, that is it was fictional where the character of Jesus was concerned, as most of it is about comic parody of the great war between the Romans and Pharisees 70 ~73 CE. (The book Piso Christ) can give plenty details on this and who were the writers of the NT. As for Paul he also was not a real person, and Paul would never have been brought into the story but the writers had to have realized after they had fictionally killed the fictional Jesus that they forgot to have him open the new religion, and that is why they brought Paul into the story. Although, there was a prototype of the book of Mark which was called 'ur Marcus' that a relative of the NT writers had tried to pass to the Judeans in the very early 60s ce, but Nero stopped that. The NT story as seen in the bible now was not begun until the year 70CE . The writers placed it in a different and earlier time in history to make it seem more believable, and fewer persons would be able to know what they had done. All of the writers were related and they also played the disciples as well. To the point, Jesus was not a real person and that has been proved.

Back then, there was really no way to prove or disprove anything! so whatever has been passed on to us through myth , lore , or fact is probably blurred. While he most likely existed, if someone like that lived today he would be locked up in a mental institution, no matter whether he was the son of God, or the son of a man named Henry. That's not to say I don't believe Christ was the son of God, I just mean there's no way for me as a rational thinker to be sure, just as Odysseus was written by Homer into an elaborate and symbolic myth, I think that the Bible is the same. Not to say that it isn't a work of genius storytelling.
Just read the book of Mormon, which was written by a man who we CAN trace. He was a con artist, and spent time in jail, yet became a super human figure of almost biblical proportion, just because of the power of his own conviction! It makes you think, if so many people are Mormons and believe Joseph Smith was a reincarnation and had tablets translated for him by a heavenly figure, even in light of the wealth of information about his life, and how he was arrested for deception a mere four years before writing the book of Mormon... just makes you think. If you have enough power and charisma in your words, you could make people believe anything. ...
But ANYTHING is possible, I suppose..

Of course there is. There were hundreds of Christian martyrs who were killed, and tortured in horrific ways, for testifying that Jesus the carpenter's son in Galilee was a real person, was executed by the Roman governor, and they saw him alive again after his very public death.
Roman historical records mention this and that these people could not be induced for any reason to deny that what they had seen was true.
You are forgetting that 95% of the population of the known world in the first century was illiterate. So the fact that not that many Greek, Jewish, Roman etc. sources mention him is no proof at all that he wasn't there. Negatives don't prove diddly.
Onward. Now, would you let someone kill you by slow torture for your belief in something you *know* is fictional and not real? Say, the Great Pumpkin? Or the Pink Panther? Or the Maltese Falcon? Not likely!
The fact that NONE of these hundreds of people who were eyewitnesses to His existence could be persuaded to recant even under threat of death by torture, is evidence enough to convince most people that He at least existed. Whether or not he was God the Son is a different matter, which I'll be happy to take up with you at another time.

What, did a private eye from the future take the newly invented time machine, go interview people from 2000 years ago, and then stop by our time and let us know before skipping back to the future again?
No, but seriously, what is your source? I have never heard anything like this, and I don't think that there is enough existing documentation from that long ago to make such a claim.
Edit: Honestly, if there are seven sources that claim his existance, that's pretty good, considering the population was largely illiterate, and outside of the middle east and surrounding regions, he had few followers, simply because of geography. Add that to the (un) likelihood of a text surviving two thousand years and seven people mentioning one person's name (esp. if they are not connected with each other) is fairly impressive.

"Historians have little other than Christian accounts on which to base a biography of Jesus. A reference to Jesus by Josephus is disputed. Greek accounts portray Jesus as the son of adultery, and Jewish accounts portray him as a magician, but these accounts tell us virtually nothing about Jesus as a historical figure."
I doubt we'll ever know for sure if he actually existed or not, but we can let the evidence speak and decide for ourselves from there. If you believe he did, so be it. If you don't, your choise. I personally say no he wasn't real, at least as "Son of God," a good man though maybe.
Also, as for setting our time by him as the person above stated, those who win wars are the ones who write history. All religions are able to "prove" their beliefs in some way or another, what matters though in the end is if your beliefs connect you to divine, you are happy, and you don't purposly cause harm.

Not a criticism, but your research is to date incomplete. There were over 80 gospels submitted for consideration in the Bible, so there's at least 75+ witnesses not included in the Bible. Transcripts of these can be found within the Dead Sea Scrolls and Nag Hammadi texts.
There are also Roman records of Jesus imprisonment, torture and execution, so he definitely existed as a real human, after that it's up to us to decide what he was...

Yes, Jesus did really existed.
Do you know that Jesus lived in India? Read the book "Jesus Lived in India" by the German Rev. Holger Kersten. It is full of living evidence and scientific proof.
(1) The 12 year old boy Jesus was seen questioning priests and they (the observers) identified this boy has special talents. So they took him to East along the Silk Road. He was raised in Tibet and must be grasping very fast their meditations and magical performances called 'irdhi'. One with a higher level of mind can do miracles.
(2) Jesus was in Tibet during his early years. His special capabilities must have helped to achieve a higher state of mind with Buddhist teachings.
(3) His magical performances like walking on water were commonly practiced by Buddhist monks.
(4) After his Crucifixion he did not die on the cross. Instead he only fell unconscious. Blood patterns on the cloth covered him proves that his heart was functioning after he was brought down from the cross.
(5) It is true that he was seen after Crucifixion. He came to his followers secretly before he left for East (India). He obviously could not appear in public due to the risk of recapture.
(6) He lived a peaceful life there as St. Issa and died a natural death at old age. His tomb still exists in Kashmir.
Just run a search on "Jesus lived in india" and you will get much more information and 'proof'.

iam sure that there were more then 7---writings from 2000 yrs. ago are not that easy to find--but the ones found agree that he lived and what a life he lived!
u also have to remember that the Bible did not exist as a whole book as it does today---so you can't say they are all prejudiced--there was NO Bible--just writings. letters and hand written manuscripts--memoirs. He was and is a man worth remembering.
would people die for a lie? or a liar? u must go and look at the early church--they faced horrible deaths--why? because they said they believed in HIM. if u are going to face a hungry lion, u had better know what and in whom you believe.

I think it's been shown in more than ample evidence that Jesus walked the earth, but what I find so remarkably befuddling is when athiest and non-christans say "I believe he lived, but he wasnt the son of God, he was just a good moral teacher (or a "good" person). If you take that position then ask yourself these questions:
1. If Jesus wasn't God then why was he killed for saying he was?
2. If Jesus wasn't God then why would his disciples endure imprisonment punishment, torture, and death to spread the word that he is?
3. Does a good moral person repeatedly lie about who he is?
4. If Jesus is not God then you must say he is either insane or a liar neither of which make for a good teacher.
It's easy to say Jesus was a good man but if you don't believe he is God than you can't believe he was a good moral person.
I encourage you to take some of your questions to GotQuestions.org or BibleGateway.com
God bless you. I hope that God calls you to him so that you may see the everlasting mercy and grace which is bestowed upon those in his family.
