This is more of a philosophy question, but it is common enough when dealing with a drug addict & the possibility of overdosing. You ultimately cannot force a person completely, they might pour the medicine in your question down the sink when you're not looking, you can't be there 24/7; this is the tragedy & sadness of reality for some people. I think it reveals more of human nature than any religion, & pig-headed stubbornness of some people & simply self-destructive urges that not even religion can redirect-for some, not everyone.

Well I see where you are going with this question but besides that fact, I would explain the cure, and talk about all the benefits and cons of it and then let them decide it.
If it was my kid, I would decide based on their maturity or age. Obviously if they are 4 years old, I would tell the Doctor to give them the cure, but if they were 14, I would probably let them decide.

Your 360 profile, in part, reads " Life is a walk uphill . . . now get off my back ".
This is what baffles me about those who express to be " Christians ". That blended with style of your question and the follow up " added details " you posted. . . Something doesn't blend there.
In reply to your question. . . Encouraged with love and knowledge of what's offered...yet still there is free will, free choice . . .communication with those in the know . . .choices are made.
Any more than that. . . what others have already expressed here . . .I'll leave this here as is.

OK that was low- I am a Christian, and I do believe that we have a choice if we accept Christ for life or not- HOWEVER- I know that there are people out there who may have just lost a loved one. With your question it shows how insensitive someone can be when they are insulting Christians- Hmm!

I do and my daughter takes medicines and suffers horrible treatments to get a bit better. Why because she is a loving, thoughtful person who knows we all love her.
Explain to your person, that it is not only their disease, the disease belongs to all who care for that peson.
It's a group choice which you all need to share.

Comparing atheism to a disease now? Oh my yes, atheists and non-believers are sick and diseased, and need healing from the afflictions of reason, thought, and a questioning mind.
Please. It's not like you have some pill. Give it a rest.

You know... that was low. I already had that happen. My mother died in 2003 of lung cancer. We tried to help her but it was entirely up to her what she wanted to do because it was HER LIFE.
If I had my way, we'd have sued those doctors for all they were worth for not catching the cancer even after years of testing because they weren't testing properly. You can't have pneumonia for 2 years. But my mother didn't want to and it was left at that.
Now... I know exactly what you mean by this ridiculous, rude and thoughtless comparison. Your trying to compare it to disbelief in religion.
You have no proof your god is real but that bloody cancer most definately was. Nice try but I'm not falling for that.

i could decide to be noble and say that i could shop the only million,000 human beings, yet i understand if it got here all the way down to it, i might shop the only individual I did understand. Emotionally, i might have the capacity to bear the information of one million,000 human beings i do no longer understand demise extra useful than the only individual i understand demise.

No matter how much i would wish for them to take the cure its not my decision to be made its up to them. Its their life, not mine. Therfore their own choice. The best i could do was honor they're desicion no matter what it would be.
