That is a mystery to me unless he is enjoying his new found freedom, and wants to be left alone. Are you sure that is what he is wearing? Could it be a heirloom or something besides a wedding ring from a previous relationship?
Perhaps he still wears it because it still fits.

could be to keep other women from being interested in him.
don't divorced people have a difficult time dealing with it and just want to avoid any more pressure or stress of a possible relationship?

probably that he is not ready for a new person in his life and that hes still grieving over his wife. and that he didnt want a divorce.
