My mother filed what is now the 4th order of protection against me. She tells lies ranging from my weight being about 25% higher than it is, to that I'm a drug addict and would use guns against her and the police if they aren't taken away. Another thing she does is she misquotes me and takes things out of context.

Can I take care of this prior to the court date? Is there anything I can do to keep her from pulling this garbage again? She keeps trying to take away mine and my dad's guns, and get me committed.

I think there may be more to this story than we are hearing here.

No you can't do anything prior to the court date. There is nothing you can do to prevent her from filing again if her past applications have been approved. I've been defending a client for four years from repeated orders and the judge keeps approving them because they don't want to deny one and get their name in the paper if that person harms someone.

All you can do is oppose each order and show that it is not necessary.

Get a lawyer. It sounds like she is the one that needs to be committed.

Talk to a lawyer, not Yahoo answers.
