Hey you spelled "tatoo" wrong... it's spelled t-a-t-t-o-o.
Anyway, henna tattoos don't hurt. They're just paint. It's good to get henna first before getting a real one. Check if you really would want to have a 4leaf clover on your foot and see it every single day in your life when you look down on your feet.
It is a very good idea...
P.S. Getting tattoos is a big sacrifice... health wise and some people discriminate you for having AIDS and unless you live in a first world country it's no problem but if you live in a third world country.... some countries don't allow you to visit or immigrate to them if you have tattoos.

A friend of mine had a henna design done on her ankle & decided she liked it enough to get a real tattoo. She went out with her grandaughter and got one a month or so later (yes, a tattooed grandmother and retired school teacher; my friends are cool & way varied people).
However:
Henna doesn't hurt. It's really just skin dye.
Best case, you won't be able to do more than simulate a real tattoo in design. The color will be entirely different, with shading not even an option, and realistically the design will be shakily similar at best. This will be especially true with something small, but then it's not like you can have huge amounts of detail with a tattoo at this size either.
Of course, if you just want to see if you like the idea of the tattoo, location & rough design, it's a good (& cheap!) option. A temporary tattoo would be better used to simulate the actual art, though.

No, henna doesn't hurt at all. It's a dye that you apply as a paste onto your skin. Have a look here for more details: http://www.hennapage.com/
Up to a point, it will help you to establish whether or not you want to go ahead and get a real tattoo. It gives you a chance to get used to seeing your body decorated with some form of art, and to check out whether the placement you're thinking of is going to work for you. But it does look very different to a real tattoo, so it can only help you part of the way towards making your decision.
Hope this helps!

Henna is the ground leaves of the lawsonia inermis plant and will stain your skin a dark orange to dark brown.
If it is 'black' it contains PPD and is toxic and illegal but unfortunately still found in Mexico, Greece and many tourist traps in the USA. Henna will NOT look like an 'ink' tattoo.
It doesn't hurt...it's like being decorated like a cupcake! Paste goes on top of your skin, sits, stains, flakes off...and in 24 - 48 hours darkens to it's darkest color. It's the oxidization process. No pain at all.
You may want to try 'temptu' or 'harquus' which is alcohol based body paint like they use in Hollywood. Temptu is a brand name originating in New York for the movie industry. It can last a day or up to 7days.
A great place to learn more about henna tattoos is http://www.hennapage.com.
Hope this helps!

I think it's a great idea but please note that henna tattoos look very different than regular tattoos and the color will look different than if you were to get a 4 leaf clover. You could prob find a temp tattoo with that design and sport that for a little bit and see if you like it. That might give you a more accurate image of what you want to get.
Best of luck.

That's a great idea. Try out a non-permenant tatoo first to make sure you like it. The real tatoo will hurt, but the henna one will not. And remember if you get a real tatoo, you'll have to live with it the rest of your life, are you sure you'll always like it that much?

I haven't had a henna tatto but I do have a real one. I think that you should think about what you want to get for a long time before you acually get it. I thought about mine for about a year before I finally got it. Just be sure that you will be happy with what you pick out. I am still happy with mine. (besides that it is fading which I am going to have recolored next week)Think about later on in life, will you still like it when you are 80?
Oh, don't worry about it hurting, it really isn't that bad! :)

a henna tatoo is simply mud that temporarly dyes your skin
they don't hurt at all, its just like painting your skin
it would be a really good idea to try the henna out before you get the real thing, just to make sure you truly like it and to see if its in the right place or at the right angle etc etc

That's a great idea.
No henna tattoos do not hurt, it's almost like getting a temporary tattoo, like the ones out of a gum ball machine.
Hope this helps.
