It was written in a time when the world was less choatic.. therefore wouldnt that make you believe it more? Anyone that has followed the bible and been inspired by its words and advice knows how fulfilling it is...When It was written the truth was more perceivable...?

In my personal opinion, I dont think the Bible is necessarily more believable simply because it was written a long time ago, but I dont think it should be any less believable for its followers either. I personally have dont believe it for my own reasons, but it should be noted that the bible was pieced together at a time when mythology was at a peak, and it was the way of the world. Many stories in the bible can be traced from ancient Sumerian mythology up through Greek mythology, including things like the Christian Jesus:

"When we say that the Word, who is the first-birth of God, was produced without sexual union, and that He, Jesus Christ, our Teacher, was crucified and died, and rose again, and ascended into heaven, we propound nothing different from what you believe regarding those whom you esteem sons of Jupiter." [Justin Martyr, First Apology, 21].

So I think what should make it "believable" is how it touches a persons heart and life. As you said, "Anyone that has followed the bible and been inspired by its words and advice knows how fulfilling it is..." , at least to that person. Myth in all forms can be inspiring to people, it just depends on how they interperate it. As for the world being less chaotic in that era, I suppose that's up for debate, as that's the age when the "christians" were viciously murdering inocent men, women, and children not willing to follow their "god".

First thing's first: IS the Bible more believable? Than what?

It's true that many of the books in the magazine known as the Bible reflect the savagery and ignorance of the times in which they were written. That grown adults here in the 21st century pretend to take the Bible "literally" is just sad. This is not to say that the Bible is totally devoid of Truth and Beauty; only that its truths are framed in terms of the ideas of the day, and that day was long ago, and subsequent developments over centuries have compelled us to alter some of our ideas in light of new knowldge; and that one therefore needs a smattering of education and common sense to separate the wheat from the chaff. It's all well and good to believe, e.g., that God created the heavens and the earth, but He demonstrably did NOT do it in six days 6,000 years ago; and it's imbecile to insist that He did as a cardinal point of religion.

Was the world really less chaotic? Seems like it was crazier in those days what with all the floods and people being turned into pillars of salt and etc.

I mean there you are, an innocent little baby. Then someone in your town starts sodomizing and BAM, you are annihalated.

I would imagine that things like that would be rather disconcerting.

At least nowadays God pretty much leaves us to our own devices other than making the odd statue cry and stuff.

The principles and prophecies should help you to understand that the Bible truly is the Word Of God.

The time doesn't matter and as far as things being more simple. People have always been people. Culture has changed, but people have not.

What is written regarding the abilities of the Scriptures to touch your life is true.

"For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart."
-Hebrews 4:12

Scripture tracks time but the word itself is timeless. There has been confusion in all ages; but God is not the author of confusion. As time winds down things tend to speed up.

I think the difference is not just simplicity vs. complexity but needs vs. wants and poor choices.

In his lust for knowledge and greed for convenience, man has lost his place in nature and the life of God. He has traded all for ease and the glitter of technology; assuring certain death both physical and spiritual.

Aside from problems in any age; the solution has always been to wait upon the Lord. Complexity is no excuse for unbelief. How you employ your mind is always your heart's choice, despite the age you live in.

The Bible times were every bit as chaotic as times are now, from what I've read, things were pretty brutal. The Bible is believable because it is the Word of God. I think people who don't believe it just think a little too highly of themselves and their "intellect." It's hard for people to submit to the Truth - a lot of ego involved....

Not exactly. The bible has been changed that is why there are so many questions left to a sincere seeker of Truth. King Constantine got together a click of scribes and rearranged the original new testament to read what they wanted it to say. No doubt there are many truths left otherwise no one would read it. But Much was omitted and changed. If you are a sincere seeker of truth google gospelofthenazirenes.co Any sincere person can see truth no matter what the times. Yes these are complicated times but a few will be able to accept truth. Are you one of them?

You call Rome taking over the world not chaotic? Anyway, that is not what makes the Bible believeable. It is the fact that it can PROVE its authorship is from the eternal.

Well that's an interesting question. I believe the bible because I have studied it for many years and have seen the things I have read proven true in me, around me. God also confirms His own word in my life and in my experience. That is how I came to believe the bible is true.

Which would you trust to give you accurate information: an encyclopedia/textbook/website from ten years ago, or a modern one? One that had been translated at least twice (once into Latin and once into English) by people who are now dead, or one written in English, by a living person you can contact if you don't understand something?
