That question about the Saturday Sabbath was an embarrassment.

"we are no longer under the law" blah blah blah.

Did you know who that (Galatians) was written for? A group of Pharisees that were so into the law they wouldn't rescue a drowning brother on the Sabbath.

If Yeshua came back, would He want us to

a) stop living so gosh darn HOLY and be free from the Law

or

b) Repent and change our ways.

I think b.

If you are so free of the Law, why do you follow the other 9 commandments? If you are so free from the Law, why don't you go kill someone.

"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The day of the Lord" was chosen, not from any direction noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power .... People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become Seventh-day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." (Saint Catherine Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.)

I am not ashamed of the Law..the Ten Commandments. Jesus did not do away with those..but He did do away with Moses Law.
Most do not study the difference. Those who do not keep the commandments are under the CURSE of it..which is death.

Matthew 5:17-18, NIV. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
Everything is not yet accomplished.

In revelation it tells us that those who keep the commandments have the RIGHT to the tree of LIFE and to ENTER the gates of heaven.
Ecclesiastes 12:13, NIV. "Here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."

I John 3:4, NIV. "Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness."

I John 2:4-6, NIV. "The man who says, 'I know Him, but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did."

Romans 3:27-31, TLB. "Then what can we boast about doing, to earn our salvation? Nothing at all. Why? Because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds; it is based on what Christ has done and our faith in Him. So it is that we are saved by faith in Christ and not by the good things we do. And does God save only the Jews in this way? No, the Gentiles, too, may come to Him in this same manner. God treats us all the same; all, whether Jews or Gentiles, are acquitted if they have faith. Well then, if we are saved by faith, does this mean that we no longer need obey God's laws? Just the opposite! In fact, only when we trust Jesus can we truly obey Him."

The Sabbath was made at creation and was made FOR MAN. The sabbath was also put in the Ten Commandments..

Moses Law was written by moses...it was made up of ordinances etc.
IMoses law pointed to Jesus..and was nailed at the cross..he became the ultimate sacrifice.

The Ten Commandments are still to be kept. Jesus did not tell us to throw them away.

Okay, You call Christians brother and yet lack the understanding of what it means to be a Christian. We who call ourselves Christian believe that God gave man the law and man failed in his attempt to live up to God's righteousness this is the reason for the coming of Christ who did fulfill the law. We by faith are thereby changed to his righteousness. The law was not destroyed but fulfilled. Until the atonement we followed God by traditions and laws. These did include sacrifice and traditions which represented the coming of our lord. Now when we leave the light on in anticipation for someones coming we turn that light of after they have arrived, To continue to act as if there was not an atonement is to say you have no faith in the power of that atonement. The fact is by faith we are changed and are not under the law but are in agreement with God's righteousness
Christ taught that Christians saved by grace will go beyond the law. We are no longer simply following the law but going beyond it. When God gave man the law and the Sabbath, the Sabbath did represent the seventh day which is God's rest or the day of the lord. When we are saved we do by faith enter this day. We also understand that all days are holy and we no longer worship in traditions and ceremonies but we worship in spirit and in truth.

Let me put it to YOU as Jesus put it to the head Pharasee at dinner.

Is it wrong to heal on the sabbath, if so NEVER HAVE A HEART ATTACK on either a Saturday nor a Sunday, for NO ONE WILL LIFT A HAND TO SAVE YOU, except Jesus.

When the Phrasee couldn't answer, Jesus got up (on the Sabbath day) and healed a man who came to the door.

Did JESUS disrespect the Sabbath! YOU decide!

Jesus then asked the Pharasee if his COW were to fall into a well on the sabbath would he let the cow drown or would he pull the cow out.

The Phrasee coudln't answer this.

WHO COOKS YOUR FOOD on the SABBATH

WHO CHEWS IT FOR YOU, that is WORK you know

DO YOU FAST once a week, every week.

Do you go potty. Who cleans you after you go potty.

A goyum!

ALL God said was KEEP it holy

He didn't say much of anything else

He said KEEP the SABBATH HOLY

He didn't say STOP BREATHING BECAUSE THAT's WORK

He didn't say STAY IN BED because to sit up is WORK

I try and make it even simpler.

I make EVERY DAY HOLY

Why should JUST ONE DAY be reserved for God!

That's pretty selfish. 6 days for yourself and only ONE for GOD!

Shame on you!

FOLLOWING NINE INSTEAD OF TEN COMMANDMENTS...where did I get that idea????
the Lord Himself...you'll see no sabbath commandment here...
Mar 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honor thy father and mother.
Mar 10:20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mar 12:31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

You are obviously SDA ..I can't follow a sect started by a false prophet (Ellen G White)...there is substantial evidence in the scripture that says we are exempt from keeping a Sabbath Day...the Lord is MY Sabbath...which is greater the Lord God or a day of the week..I serve in good conscience and get my rest from Him..I don't try to guilt you into abandoning your heresy, qwhy do you wish to trap people into the law that was nothing but a curse to begin with???

Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Gal 3:15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

Jesus fulfilled the Law. "There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus." The Vail of the temple was rent in the midst on the day Jesus hung on the cross. The separation that God only allowed the priest to atone was fulfilled in Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. We have a day set aside for God the majority of the christian Religions accept Sunday. If you differ thats alright, It does not make you "righter"

My wife used to be SDA and her sister still is....it is sad that there seems to be such anger from SDA members to other christians who DON'T DENY the Sabbath, but worship on sunday. here is a great text from GotQuestions.org----

It is not secret knowledge that in 321, Constantine decreed, "On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed" (Codex Justinianus lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; trans. in Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, Vol. 3, p. 380, note 1). Constantine seems to have made this change himself and not through the papacy, since the "papacy" had not really come in to being at that time. The papacy grew gradually out of the office of Bishop and for many years this was centered in Rome. In any case, it should be noted that in doing this, Constantine is not changing the Sabbath; he is merely making Sunday the official day of rest for the Roman Empire. His motivation was probably not born out of hatred for the Jews (it's hard to say for sure why Constantine or any historical figure did what they did) but out of adoption of the practice that Christians had already been doing for nearly two and a half centuries.

It is well documented that the early church had adopted Sunday as their day of worship. The book of Acts in chapter 20, verse 7 speaks of this, "On the first day of the week, when we met to break bread, Paul began to speak to the people…" and 1 Corinthians 16:2, "On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside some income and save it to the extent that God has blessed you, so that a collection will not have to be made when I come." These passages indicate that Christians were probably meeting regularly on Sunday (the first day of the week). They did this most likely because Christ rose on the first day of the week. It wasn't until hundreds of years later that the death of Christ became the focal point of Christian worship services. That is not to say they thought it unimportant; but they were primarily concerned with His victory over death, most realized in His resurrection.

It is important to remember that corporate worship with other believers is necessary and part of obedience, but the day that your church body chooses to worship on is not really that significant. The New Testament addresses this in a couple of different passages. See Colossians 2:14-17, "He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days— these are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ!"

Also see Romans 14:5-6, "One person regards one day holier than other days, and another regards them all alike. Each must be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who observes the day does it for the Lord. The one who eats, eats for the Lord because he gives thanks to God, and the one who abstains from eating abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God."

Keep in mind that just because a person becomes born again it generally takes years for a person to me pretty well free of the influences of the world and an independent Bible believing thinker.

Some Christians never get to that point.

The observance of the Sabbath is part of the convent of the Nation of Israel...

So why would modern day Christians need to observe it in the first place?

Sometimes I too am ashamed of people of faith when they attempt to force others to buy in to their own interpretation. Your question...as are most of my answers...are based on our opinion....I have yet to state that my way is God's way. If nothing else, he has taught me to be humble.
