I like Osbert Sitwell's definition:
"Poetry is like fish: if it's fresh, it's good; if it's stale, it's bad; and if you're not certain, try it on the cat."

Good poetry all comes down to what you think. A piece of poetry might be top by scholar standards but unless you can relate to it or get some kind of meaning from it, it's not going to be classified as "good" by you.

There's Disciplined Poetry, Ego poetry, Performance poetry and Emoting poetry, and each is "good poetry" to a specific audience. There are no longer "universal" forms.

there's no standard, and from all of my studies in poetry, even with the most advanced scholars, it all comes down to personal taste and opinion.
the areas where people seem to share one opinion (about "bad" poetry, for instance) are what come to be *like* standards,
but there are no standards
