I suppose if you got a huge tattoo of a swastika or something pointedly anti-christian it wouldn't be. Otherwise, the only argument against it would be I suppose not treating your body as a temple, in which case the Big Mac that someone ate before they got that tattoo would be more of an issue.

...I think there are better things to worry about if you want to be Christian like than that you're going to burn in hell for trying to beautify your body.

For everyone using Leviticus to condemn tattoos, that book also says not to eat shrimp or pork or talk to women who are menstruating as well as many other things that are completely ignored in modern day society. If you are ready to condemn those things as well, go ahead and quote Leviticus. Otherwise, you need to stop picking and choosing the verses you want to adhere to.

No, but they are definitely not Jewish-like, because the bible says a tatoo can get you "cast out" as a Jew. Jews are not supposed to do it... and average Christians are sort of voluntarily "owned" (brainwashed by the capitalistic society) by the Jews/Christian big monied interests, so they have the same taboo (that's why they circumcise (for health reasons ha ha) although it is supposed to be a Jewish religious ceremony = voluntarily follow Jewish laws).

im not christian but i have a cross tattooed on my arm in memory of my grandpa, i did it when i was like 13, but i guess they arent christian, because you are putting more love into getting a tattoo than into god, thus meaning you dont love him

Tattoos have nothing to do with a belief in Jesus and God. God is concerned about our soul. Our bodies are just houses for our souls until we get to Heaven. As long as the tattoos are not idols, or condemnations of Christ. There is a passage in the old testament condemning those who mark themselves, but after further study, I found that it was because they were marking themselves to idolize false gods. that is why God condemned them.

good question. i sometimes feel bad even wearing jewelry as i personally think GOD made us beautiful, in his own image and nothing can or should alter that. but in these times, i think it's so well accepted. no one thinks about GOD when buying tattoos or new shoes. remember, even taking GOD oout of this issue...you will have the markings forever and maybe won't like being thought of as trashy when you're 40

depends on what it is. If you read the entire passage from Leviticus in context you see that it deals with pagan religious practices that mark the body in various ways. Obviously the Lord would be displeased if you permanently mark your body in worship of a pagan god. I think it is tatoo as a pagan worship rite that is prohibited, not tatoo in general.

Against the Will of G-d! Man was created in the image of G-d, to change that is a sin against G-d.

Especially, those "Tramp Stamps" women get on their lower backs!
