How many of you Agnostics and Athiests and Christians love getting thumbs down in the R&S?

Personally I love it, because then I know that there is someone out there that disagrees with me, and is letting me know that I am right, and they cannot prove their point in their answer, so they give me a bad rating... Its not my fault that I dont have faith and that I choose to not believe in something until I can prove it exists... Its called being logical.

Do the Christians hate Athiests/Agnostics so much, that they hide in their own idiocracy?

The same for Christians, dont you hate it when you get thumbs down from an Athiest/Agnostic for beleiving in God/Jesus? There are also the same dorks that go around and give you guys bad ratings just for believing and having more faith than the rest of us?

I am basically looking for opinions on this matter, and why these guys cant stand each other... Im Agnostic myself...
And please.. No Flames... I have said nothing above to offend anyone

As an agnostic who was raised in a southern baptist home, I understand (or at least think i do) what's going on...
Christians have so much faith in their god that they are right, no matter what. It's those that are fanatical that get their panties in a twist if someone of a different opinion comes along. I remember once when I was like ten, the pastor in my mother's church was asked to join a a group for community religious leaders. He refused, stating that he would not sit at the same table as a Jew, a Muslim, and a Buddhist...
Agnostics and Athiests get upset with Christians because this whole "you're wrong and you're going to hell" attitude has gone way to far. It's been shoved down our throats until we're tired of it... I don't flame back at people, just becuase I refuse to sink to that level.
:) How's my opinion on the matter?

I always thought the thumb down rating was to be used when someone gave an incorrect answer so the asker knows that the answer given is wrong. That is how I use the thumb down icon. Well, and occasionally when some one is just being vulgar and rude. An example answer I would give a thumbs down to is "Moses took two of each animal on the Ark." I would then reply with the correct answer, "Noah took two of each animal on the Ark."

A lot of people do abuse the thumbs system and give me a thumbs down just because the don't like my answer. Sometimes I like getting thumbs down, because at least I know that the reader really read what I wrote and had a reaction to it.

I agree with you...I try and ignore the thumbs down and just enjoy the thumbs up. I try very hard to love people and pray for the ones that give the thumbs down. And probably because I said I'd pray for them I'll probably get a couple more thumbs down for this answer...But I liked what someone else said...at least that means they read it.

Thumbs down is not about hate..its about the democratic right to vote for what we believe or do not believe. Why worry about it..it's not the end of the world..and it does not always determine the best answer according to the asker.
There are people who write disgusting answers to proper questions and the thumbs down is a way to vote against such hate and filth etc.

I thumbs up and down after I answer a question. I'm not a coward to hit and run.
I thumbs up all intelligent answers and thumbs down all the stupid ones. Beliefs don't mean anything to me when it comes to the answers. Good is good and bad is bad and I rate that way!

Getting a thumbs down doesn't necessarily mean you're right. It just means that someone disagrees with you.

Since no one really has the answers (although science is more logical to me) no one can really say who's right or wrong.

Just my opinion.

Not necessarily. Sometimes I give a thumbs down just because I know trying to have a dialog with some of them is only going to get me nothing but cut & paste scripture quotes.

I agree with Taliesin...Although I am a Christian, if the question is "why are you not a christian" i am not going to give them thumbs down when they say something like "Because God's not real" Because...I ASKED. I rate people based on how well they answered the question, not on whether or not I agree.

Personally, I only give thumbs-down to answers that reflect false information produced by laziness. One guy, for example, said that John the Revelator was insane - I gave that a thumbs-down because the answer showed a profound ignorance of the apocalyptic literary genre. I never give a thumbs-down for answers that I simply disagree with - in fact, I often give thumbs-up to answers that I disagree with, as long as the answer demonstrates careful thought.

You're assuming the only reason someone gives you a 'bad answer' rating is because they don't agree with you.
I don't mean to sound harsh here, but I often go through having a look at answers and marking bad answers based on whether they tried to answer the question or not, and you might be surprised how many people completely (whether on purpose or not) miss the point.
