You are right searching for the truth, is, very important, and finding it out for yourself for sure is also very important because then you know that you searched long and hard, and can be sure of what you have found, unlike if you just take someone else's word for it without them showing you where they found it, you cannot be sure that they have got it right, a lot of people do not search very much, they are satisfied with halftruths so they just take the first thing that seems right to them, without any searching, so taking their word for it would be a grave mistake. No I hava always been a person to search untill I can get to the bottom of something, and if someone told me something I wanted to know how they came to that conclusion, and where it was they found the truth. So I usually did my own research, and I have never regretted doing this research.

Yes But When one has found they no longer have to search. If you are a sincere seeker of Truth google gospelofthenazirenes.co for the original New Testament before King Constantine changed so many things. Also go to harekrishnatemple.co for Universal Truths. Good Luck in your search.

I never cease to search for truth. But as far as accepting what someone else tells me, well that depends on how reliable they are as a source and how probable what they're saying is. I'd be in a cesspool of ignorance if I couldn't trust what anyone else told me and had to figure it out for myself, wouldn't I? That doesn't keep reason from being my prime authority, though.

I have almost finished my 6th time through the bible.
I use Greek-Hebrew (and Aramaic) interlinears to understand the original texts.
Use a concordance
other help (including internet)
I believe the (100%) whole bible
Confusion occurs:
when people try to make scripture say what those people are saying and not the context the verse(s) are written in.
Bad translation
Verse(s) aren't compared to verses that actually say the same thing (in context)
Study the bible (God's Word) to mean what it says not anything else.
Read:
Romans
The Gospels
Psalms

Only God knows truth. We know only evidence. But the search for truth through the examination and testing of evidence is something I pursue every waking moment.

all of the religions basically point toward truth .. buddha made this famous statement at the end of his life: "im still searching for the truth" ... muhammad said "i am a prophet of the truth" .. the veda says "truth is elusive its like a butterfly, youve got to search for it" .. then Jesus comes along and says "i am the truth" .. all of a sudden that forces a decision ...

Now, being more mature I search, instead of taking someone's word for it. Before I started reading the bible for myself, I could more than likely be convinced when someone would reference some "sciptures". (which would actually be taken out of it's original context). Anywho, he does say that "my people perish for a lack of knowledge" and to "study to show yourself approved". So, search the scriptures for yourself, pray for discernment and wisdom, develop and cultivate a personal relationship with Jesus.
