I think God gave us all a name at the beginning of time, and we will find out what it is when we get there. What do you know about that? Please give me a biblical reference, thanks very much!!

When I say there, I mean Heaven.

Revelation 2:17: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it."

I can't really give you much in the way of biblical reference, but my name's been mentioned in The Bible before, so I'd guess maybe I could be called the same thing in Heaven, if I actually go there; I occasionally have my doubts. I can't begin to think of why my name would change, just because I die. I guess you could ask God for a name change...

I do not have Biblical references, but I have heard that God gives us all a new name in Heaven.
Side note, I am really tired of seeing the user with the darling offensive screen name answering every question the same and then listing a bunch of web sites.... if you don't share beliefs with the asker, who cares, but lay off already. Oh and I love the fact that you allow no e-mail or IMs... afraid you'll get too much grief? Please leave everyone to their OWN beliefs.

I think you've been reading too much mythology. You'd need to restore the books in the library at Alexandria for a reference, but then, you'd never believe it anyway. No offense, but you're already repeating dogma that someone ELSE told you to believe.

Question your religion. If god is there, it isn't afraid of questions. The religion will be, however. They don't want your mind to wander.

Maybe, can you imagine how many John Smith's there are in the afterlife? There's got to be a way to sort them all out.

I guess the only real way we will know, is watch to see what happens when we get there...

You won't get a decent answer to that question. Those that purport to know, don't know. Those that don't know will either not answer or give you a wacky answer.

You will be known as you are known. That is all I remember. I do not remember the verse.
