Hello...
My boyfriend and I are having a debate of who pays for what when baptising a child. We were selected to baptise a friends baby and I was always told that the godparents pay for the childs outfit, candle, rosary ect. and that they cooperate with the after party. He thinks that the after party is fully the parents responsibility. Can someone please help?

The party is the parents responsibility. The outfit, etc. is the godparents.

First, you have the incorrect theory approximately what a godparent does. once you settle for that place, you're saying would desire to something ever ensue to the dad and mom, you will make confident the toddler is made conscious or experienced in the religion they specified. as an occasion, in the event that they're Catholic, a godparent might make confident the toddler became into experienced in the Catholic faith. you at the instant are not obligated to furnish presents or strengthen the toddler. 2d, a godparent would desire to be of the comparable faith as a results of fact the dad and mom. With some religions, this is a call for. 0.33, in case you do not desire to be a godparent to this toddler, then with the aid of all skill, strengthen a backbone and say so. in the journey that your husband needs the situation, permit him. there isn't any rule that states the two the husband and spouse would desire to be godparents at the same time. Your husband can stand on my own or they might chosen somebody to stand with him. Fourth, I basically wish you hit upon God. Eternity is an prolonged, long term.

The best people to ask would be the child's parents.

The godparent pay for the child's outfit and gives the child a gift. If you like you can contribute to the party by offering to pay for the cake. At the family party, you could make a toast or say a meaningful prayer for your godchild and your role in his or her life.

Go dutch with a cash bar.
That will stop any arguments.
Does it really matter to God who pays?
