It takes many pounds of grain or other feed to produce a pound of meat. We could feed the world today if existing plant-based foods were eaten by people directly rather than channeled through livestock to produce a small amount of food to be consumed by relatively affluent people.

Animal-based foods are the least cost-effective foods. They require more land, water, and energy per unit of protein than plant-based foods. Therefore, producing animal-based foods wastes resources that could be used to feed a greater number of people a healthful plant-based diet.

World hunger exists today largely because traditional means of growing food to be consumed locally were displaced by cash-crop agriculture promoted by colonial powers. Producion of cash crops for export leaves local people vulnerable to the ups and downs of international food markets. When the price of the cash crop drops, the people no longer have money to buy food. The solution is to return to sustainable cultivation of traditional food plants for local and regional consumption. This cannot occur if land and resources are devoted to intensive animal agriculture operations.

Hive collapse is real enough, but I'm not sure anyone has a really good idea what's causing it.

I think the cell phone idea sounds far fetched. Seems more likely to have something to do with certain insecticides, from what little I've read about it.

Don't know to what extent, if any, the world food supply would actually be endangered, but I do hope this is worked out in any case.

This planet in bombarded daily with millions of watts of energy from the sun and other solar bodies across the entire radio spectrum.

This is what caused evolution. Cell phones (in your hand) produce so little energy (< 0.6W) that you can ignore that as a source of anything except inane chatter.

The cell phone towers transmit about 1MW of power in the largest ones (my estimate only - they wouldn't need more than that) which is only a fraction of the total external radiation and way less than most Commercial radio stations (20-100MW).

I would seriously doubt cell phones or the towers would affect bee colonies.

No I don't think cell phones are causing any type of a problem. For years we have been using microwave frequencies for radio and TV, we have been using a lot of different frequencies in the spectrum and no harm has come to them. I think they need to look in a different direction. There is something else causing it.

I think the only harm a cell phone does is distracting a driver, or cause a ruckus in a grocery line or in crowds.

I have been following this for several years now and I have not seen or read of anything having to do with cell phones. Where are you getting this from? Would like to read it too. Read your link and no mention of cell phones.

the government stepped into ban smoking because of health reasons then they will eventually step in about cell phones because you need food to live.

There is no 'legit' science that says cellphones hurting any food supply.

Those studies are bogus.
