But can it get any worse then in the film, the amount Jesus suffered in the film he wud actually have died way before being put on the cross, the scrouging done in the film can kill anyone today, Jesus cud have been stabbed in one go and died and still he could have died for sins.

I do not believe that it was exaggerated. It could have been worse. The thing is, I believe with all of my heart that He took all of that beating, torture, and persecution for everyone. In 2004, I gave my life to Him in baptism (immersion only), and I don't regret for one minute. I want to go to Heaven, and live there forever with God, my Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour.
Please anyone that don't know Christ, please visit a local church of Christ (conservative, non-instrumental) to learn about Jesus Christ and His church. Please turn your life over to Christ, and God bless!!

I think the movie Passion of the Christ is close to what really happened. I think it was even worse. In the Bible, it says Jesus was tortured and beaten to the point that he was unrecognizable and disfigured. Yes, he took that much torture and pain. The most agonizing part of the whole things was at that cross, not hanging on it, but at the point when he cries out, "Father, why have you forsaken me", it was at that moment that he took (and literally felt) the pain, hurt, punishment and darkness or the entire world, from the past, his present and the future till the end. It was at that moment that he was separate from God the Father, never before, never again to be.
There is not a person that has ever walked this earth outside of Jesus himself who was without sin. Never in the past and never will there be on THIS earth in this earth age.
The Old Testament portion of the Bible was written between 500 and two to three thousand years BEFORE Jesus was even born. His birth, purpose on earth, death and what he would do for humankind were all foretold (or prophecies) in the Old Testament. Everything happened exactly how the Old Testament said it would ages before Jesus was on earth. Things in the New Testament that have been foretold have begun to happen as well, just as it says. I would say the Bible is accurate to perfection.

According to non scriptural evidence (historical writings about the customs of the time), it is very likely that Jesus died exactly as the film suggests. Many were crucified in that manner. Jesus was not alone in his torture or method of death and I don't think the producers of the film were trying to indicate otherwise. That is what crucifixion is and that is what flaying is. Jesus was found guilty by both the Romans and the Jewish leaders. The flaying...(beating and whipping) was the Roman punishment...crucifixion was the death of choice by the Jews.

Didn't see the film, but like you said, didn't other people equally get crucified? The film draws special attention to the torture, but does not give any inspirational words from the Lord. The real pain for Jesus was not the torture. Rather it was the pain of sustaining the sins of the entire world on his sinless body, of feeling separated from the Father and feeling the wrath of the Father on sin. In that pain, I guess my sins and your sins were a part of it, and that makes me sorrowful, but Christ was willing to go through it for our sakes, for our salvation. So I am left thanking Christ for all eternity and also knowing that the Passion movie did not capture his real pain.

Of course, everything gets exaggerated for hollywood. Anyone that tells you otherwise is probably a christian that romanticizes such a beating as a good thing because Jesus is the one who took it.
None of them were there to verify that this is an accurate amount of bloodshed by christ, but I can tell you for a fact that if anything at all took a beating the likes of what was laid on that screen, it would not be able to lift and drag a wooden toothpick, let alone a cross. For those of you who disagree, watch the movie "Roots" or "Glory," because you seem to have forgetten that not too long ago us American Christians were beating the crap out of people with whips to get them to work for us, and those people sometimes died. I seriously doubt that we used anything remotely similar to the apparatus used to beat christ with in that movie, but none of us deny that beaten slaves sometimes died.

The bible says that you wouldn't have recognized him, he was so beaten. He got 39 stripes because, they had actually found out that 40 stripes killed the person, so that is where they stopped. So, yes, I believe it was actually worse in reality than the film.
Just like when your grandparents passed away (if or if not) they leave an inheritance. Lots of people fight over this inheritance it is so important. God gave Jesus an inheritance. You are that inheritance. He finds you so important and valuable that he chose to die that death to have a relationship with you. Wow. The goal, joy even, before him was so great (that goal/joy was/is you) that he made it through. He could have called down a 1000 angels, rebuked the people and stopped the whole thing. But, YOU are more valuable to him than his own life.
The hard part is not thinking that He went through that much torture. The hard part is knowing he went through it for a relationship with you and me.

In Isaiah 50:6 that we find that the Lord wore a beard - and that His enemies would pull it out.
In Isaiah 52:14 , we read that He would be beaten so unmercifully that He would be unrecognizable.
Psalm 22 describes in graphic detail the pain and suffering Christ would experience, both physically and emotionally, as He became the sin-bearer for all of mankind.
Jews gave 40 lashes minus one to show mercy I believe. Romans were not so merciful. They literally beat you to within and inch of death. Romans hated Jews and considered a station in Israel to be one of the lowest places they could go. The Passion went very lightly.

It was every bit as bad, if not worse, and the worse pain was the rejection of the people then and today. He went there to suffer, for us and suffer He did. He could have at any time say that's enough, but He stayed to the end. An ordinary man could not have endured to the very end.

I hate to break it to you, but life isn't so peachy. In fact, back then what was displayed was routine. Being cruxified WAS a form of punishment.
Was it exagerated? To a mind unaccustomed to the violence of the Biblical era, sure it may seem that way. But you weren't there. You can't even imagine the horror of punishment back then.
I think you need to look at the history of torture. Have you ever seen Braveheart? Cutting and quartering was a true punishment back then. Life isn't as peaches and cream as it is today--it was TOUGH. In Christ's time, you were in pain before you died.
Think of the Romans--they were more than happy to put you in a ring with a lion and watch you die slowly.

It actually was worse..Mel Gibson deleted some of the scenes from the original take...Jesus was a physically strong man and was driven by his Spirit and his mission to save mankind. I can't remember if it was shown in the film, but Jesus also had his beard torn from his face.
....and to think....For Him(Jesus) the crucifiction was not what he feared the most, but rather total separation from the Father..something that could never be captured on film.
