I feel like I lose IQ points just by reading some of the questions. It's like a trainwreck, you can't stop reading though. Anyone else noticed this?

I'm not bashing religion. I'm a Christian who is amazed at stupidity and immaturity both Christians and non-Christians can come up with.

Scripture doesn't say they are dumb. Scripture says they are either deceived or blinded. Many are very smart in the ways of the world, full of snide remarks and corruption. When they come to the computer they come to play, even in matters of life and death.

Stick with spiritual blindness for that is scriptural truth. When it comes to intelligence; no one is a match for the wisdom of God. We need to give thanks that God has opened our eyes to some very simple things. Things that escaped us despite our intelligence.

I guess what I am attempting to say, and I include myself, is you need to have a real concern for people; plus a discernment for those who are contrary to themselves.

Also consider that most atheists and younger people only need to make a couple of course corrections to understand heart truth; whereas most Christians today carry some heavy, and maybe fatal, baggage in terms of false doctrine and the traditions of men.

When it came to casting the first stone at the woman taken in adultery; when God spoke, those most versed in religion were the first to throw down and leave.

ps. I know how you feel, but I really can't afford to feel that way. I don't have that many IQ points to lose! lol

The reason that many people feel dumb and cannot understand most of the spiritual questions, is because religion and spiritual things are not the same.
Religion is made up by carnal men; there is nothing spiritual about religion. Religious men tell you about their ideas, their belifes, their, rules and regulations and their opin
ion. Spiritual things are heavenly; they are inspired by God and only those that have been born from above, [have become a new creature...a spiritual being ], can understand the spiritual things because they too are spiritual and spiritual beings do understand the spiritual things of God [1st Cor.2:10-16 ]. The Holy Spirit is the One that will teach you the Truth of the Word of God [ 1st John2:20&27 ]. Follow Paul's teachings and not what is in the old test. Jesus gave Paul the revelation of the secrets that were hidden in the scriptures.Jesus chose Paul to be "the apostle " to the Gentiles [ to the non-Jews ]. Paul received all that wisdom and all that revelation, when Paul was killed the 1st time [ acts 14:19 ]. Jesus took him up to heaven and revealed the scriptures to him [ 2nd cor, 12:2-10 ]. That is why Paul says in Romans 11:13 , " I preach to you Gentiles [ non-Jews ]because i am the apostle to the
Gentiles ". When Jesus was preaching in Israel; he preached on to the Jews;...He came only to the Jews ; He did not come to us Non=Jews [ Matt. 10:1&5 ]. Jesus was the minister to the Jews only [ Romans 15:8 ]. Jesus tells Ananias after He appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus," i am going to use Saul [Paul ] as an istument of mine; he is going to suffer much for my name sake; he is going to be " the apostle to the gentiles [ the non-Jews" acts 9:13-19 ]. .

Hen don't go to it. I am an Atheist tried and true. I do not wish to hear the ramblings of the religious masses either, but I am not as vulgar as to tell them that they should believe. Instead I chose to avoid forums that present religion as a topic. I live in the south and everyone I work with is a "devout" Christian. I am constantly bombarded with phrases like "Have a blessed day," and " The lord has a better plan for me." I do not acknowledge these statements negatively or positively, I simply ignore them, change the subject, or leave.

Please don’t make the mistake of extrapolating the behaviors in this Forum by some persons as representative of the populations of believers or non-believers. What you observe herein is a social aberration of the real populations of these groups. It is both interesting yet sad to see how some will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer.

Why persons think that the anonymity of this Forum grants them a license to ignore common social graces bewilders me. I suspect that these persons would be truly ashamed if their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of some of the things they write herein. Clearly they do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.

The best solution I can recommend for you is to ignore any of the vapid questions or comments of the ill-mannered. It is very easy to scan past them and focus your eyes on the substantive and cogent items. If you spend enough time in this Forum the persons prone to bad behavior become known quickly, thereby enabling you to ignore their wasted efforts even easier.

I encourage you to keep asking questions in an objective manner. You will sometimes get useful responses. Out of respect for these types of questioners, I try to answer questions cogently.

It's like entering the federation of planets on startrek. We have all some knowledge , some more than others and some with wrong knowledge needing wisdom .

Some are comfortable here and would feel strange , let's say in an auto question or beauty culture.

You are welcome here , because all questions are good. The answers have to stand against The word of God (the Bible)

Welcome.

For the life of me, I cannot figure how any intelligent being can swallow the idea that some virgin gave birth to a guy who died and came back to life, all based upon the writing of some guys they never met. It's about as simple as that. That's the question I keep looking to get answered.

I agree. They take everything so seriously. Trying to find the answer to life and death and eternity. Trying to save their souls and everyone elses. Whew! I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

I think God laughs so why can't they.
