Stealing $4000 is a felony in most states.

I'd guess a first time offender would probably get a year in prison.

As long as she doesn't go before Judge Piss in the Pants Jackson she'll probably be alright. If she happens to get that particular judge then he'll quietly ask her to walk up to the bench and quickly reach down and slap the cowboy snot out of her.........

it's bank fraud and according to wiki,

"shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both."

but i'm sure there are mitigating factors, like you said. and the figure i quoted above is for the more hard-core defrauders.

furthermore, because restitution was made, it was the first offense, etc. etc. , i think it won't be too bad. maybe some probation and community service.

This is a felony and they can get up to 10 years. It is hard to say what they will get, could be probation to a few years.
