honestly, speaking from experience, u will have a very difficult time just doing the roots & nothing else, because u will have to bleach the section u are going to dye first...it is hard to keep the bleach off the rest of your hair...u should probably go to a hairstylist, at least for the bleaching process...once it is bleached, u can just apply the hair color yourself...

ok firstly no colored hair dye like that is permanent.pink blue red green-THEY WILL ALL FADE OUT. i dont care what anyone else tells you. they will fade.
anywho you have to buy the pink dye i suggest going to a beauty supply store or even Hot Topic (its in malls etc) and getting hair dye brands like Special Effects or Manic Panic
you wil have to bleach (aka strip the color out of ) the hair you wanna dye pink. if you put the pink over dark hair it iwll only tint it. you must bleach the hair to be dyed pink first which really dries and breaks the hair.
bleaching is horrible for the hair i suggest not doing ti. or bringing the pink dye to a professional and having them do it.

Hot Topic actually has some very good Pink Hair Dye. It isn't totally permanent but it stays really good for about six weeks. i used it to turn my hair pink. :-) if your hair is black then you are going to need to bleach your roots if you want hot pink but if dark pink is good then just put it into your head and enjoy!

First, you ought to strip the chunks of hair youre going to dye of their colour. place thick foil strips under the component of your hair which you rather elect to dye and paint on the bleaching colour, then foild the foil so your hair is interior the interior like a sandwich. while youve rinsed that, use the foils lower back and placed on the colours you elect. Use everlasting dye fairly than semi-everlasting. additionally, earlier you purchase those colorings at warm subject remember bypass to a elegance furnish save first to work out if its on the industry there. in case you will hit upon the colours you elect there, get those. they are lots greater beneficial to your hair than those from warm subject remember.

OK, so if you REALLY want it done right, consult your nearest professional beauty salon for an appointment. But if want to do it yourself, I might suggest looking at different types of dye on line, and then making your decision. Then you would follow typical precautions and guidelines for maybe a root touch-up.
Hope this helps!

before you put pink on dark hair, you need to strip the color (redken makes good stuff). after it's all blonde you can put the pink in, it will show up brighter. manic panic is a good brand for funky colors, you can get it at hot topic for a few bucks. don't wash your hair for a bunch of days though, otherwise the color will wash out :-(
