there is no such thing as the lower abs. the rectus abdomins is one single muscle. muscles either contract as a whole or they do not contract at all. you can not target part of a muscle either. any exercise that supposedly targets the lower abs, leg lifts, flutter kicks, etc. either involves using the muscles of the hip flexors that lie deep underneath the bottom of the RA or only stimulate the RA isometrically. don't use localized fatigue to gauge the mechanics of an exercise as many do.

to "see" the bottom portion of the RA you need to reduce the body fat

Hey there.
For your lower abs a great work out is the 'Lying Leg Thrusts'
Begin by lying on your back; I like to do the movement on a flat bench, but it also works on the floor. Now lift your legs until they’re vertical. Tuck your hands under your bum, and make sure your lower back is flat on the ground. To perform the movement concentrate on tightening up and squeezing together the muscles in your lower abs. Your legs and your lower torso should move upward toward the ceiling.

Hope that helps.

carry close from a pullup bar/tree/rafter/something, bend your knees, and use your abs to pull your knees up such as you're doing a cannonball. carry for a 2d, straighten out, and repeat. combine this with different ab workouts and you ought to have a severe-high quality nicely rounded ab workout.

do reverse crunches, where you lay down and bring your feet up perpendicular to your self. You can also do these standing up on many pieces of gym equipment by holding yourself up and bringing your knees up to your chest. Another good one is to lay down and lift your legs to about 20 degrees or so and kick them slowly back and forth like you're swimming.
