It's just plain wrong. He's probably older than your father. It's gross & creepy.
Think about it, the only reason why he's interested in a young, immature girl (not that you are immature, but to him because you are so much younger, you are, because you are so less experianced than he is), anyway the only reason why he'd have any interest in you is basically all sexual. He wants it, & he wants it with a young, "fresh", hot girl. Maybe he wants to show you off to his friends & maybe he wants you to clean & cook around the house. There is no way he is really looking for a serious honest relationship here.
Everyone will think that the only reason why you want to be w/ him is because he can afford to buy you things, or because you are looking for a father figure - which is gross to look for one in this way.
It doesn't really matter what your reasons are, but be realistic. You can't really have a future w/ him, your in child bearing/raising age, he's over it. In 10 yrs are you going to want to wake up to a 66 yr old man? You guys won't beable to do many of the same activities together or won't be interested in what the other one likes.
Plain & simple, what comes to my mind & most others minds is that if you two are together, you're both messed up.

Yes it is creepy! The 55 year old man could get arrested for supposedly molesting you if you plan on doing that stuff. Maybe you should date someone more your own age.Besides there will be no point on dating the 55 year old man because he doesn't have many years left for a marriage.

Actually there is nothing wrong with dating an older person. Society allows up to a twenty year difference that is acceptable. However this gentleman is 35 years your senior and you would have to be extremely mature for it to really work. I don't think you would enjoy his company for long. I married a man that is 15 years older then me but we complement each other. You may want to start dating guys that are a few years older than you and if you can not find the maturity level just add a few years till you find the right one. A 35 year difference is a bit extreme right now.

Well, I would think so. Just because he could be your father! It would also depend on what kind of shape he is in: I couldn't get past the loose skin! that's just me/ I am 40/ and I would even have a hard time dating a 55 year old.. because my Dad is 65! He would be just about my Daddy's age!!! that is just really gross to me..
You are only 22,, stay young,, date younger guys,, this one most likely likes to sit back and relax more than you would.
Plus, you most likely will get tired of others referring him to you as your father/

It is unusual for two people with such a huge age difference (33 years) to date. Most people think it's creepy and sleazy because when older men date such a younger woman, it's usually just for sexual purposes. After all, they certainly wouldn't have too many other similarities.

I've always liked much older men and I understand your attraction. Yes, people will talk about you and doubt the genuinity of your feelings and your relationship.
I guess the question is, is it worth it to you and can you handle that? Because either you are going to let other people dictate your life or you are going to be yourself and follow your own heart.
But just like with ANY man, no matter what his age, tread carefully and make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Don't open yourself up to being used and abused. Make sure he respects you and treats you right. But that has nothing to do with age. That goes for any man.

You just have to remember that he has had more life experience than you. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but just be aware that you are in different frames of mind.
A guy who is 55 can offer you a different type of relationship compared to a guy in his 20's.
People are always going to have opinions about what you do, so if you feel it is right then just go for it (especially if he looks like George Clooney)

It is kind of creepy. In general, people will assume that you have a bit of a complex, wanting someone easily old enough to be your father. You should find someone closer to your age, who you will have more in common with.
