What about a kidney dialysis machine?

Hey, I need help please! I know the basics of the artificial kidney machine. However, I need to know if a person still urinates or excretes feces with a dialysis machine, even though waste is already filtered out into the machine. Also, I can't find one difference between an artificial kidney machine and a real kidney? Is it that a real kidney can do much more than just filter out wastes? Thanks!!!!!

Umm yes, they do urinate and have bowel movements!
What we eat and drink is digested and the proteins enter the blood stream and eventually get filtered out by the kidney. The rest that is waste passes out normally. Kidney machine just takes out spent proteins and returns the blood, like a kidney would do. Obviously once you start removing blood from the body to a machine and through filters then back into the body, the blood reacts and it can clot. However the kidney is part of the body, so no problem.
