If this story is true, you'd better read up on weapon safety. Second of all, the Police would be able to tell if you shot yourself. Ever hear of powder burns?.

Why on earth would you tell a lie like that, unless you were trying to incriminate your friend? With a friend like you, he doesn't need an enemy. And yes, I believe it is you who are facing a court hearing, and not your friend, who most likely wasn't even there.

False accusations are not looked upon kindly by judges. It's best to be honest, no matter how bad things look. They look a heck of a lot worse when it's discovered that you lie about it. But since you're only 16, you're still a juvenile and will be tried as such in Juvenile Court. If it's a first offense, you'll probably get off with probation. But if you pull a stupid stunt like that again, the penalty could be more severe. I hope you learned your lesson.

First off why would you lie and say someone shot you when it was an accident? Secondly whether it was you or your friend you will face jail time for falsifying a police report and giving false info to a police officer. When you go to court you better tell the truth and face the judgment placed on you. Since you are a juvenile you'll go to a juvenile jail for a while.

If the lie was serious enough, it could make you an accessory to the crime. If you wrote it out in a sworn statement, you committed Perjury. As a 16 year old and depending on the nature of the criminal act involved, you would be handled as a juvenile. If the crime was serious enough, you could be tried as an adult.

As an accessory to a criminal act, if a serious felony, you could be in jail until you are 21. Perjury is a misdemeanor offense usually carrying no more than a year in jail.

O.K., just read your addition details. You shot yourself accidentally, but told the cops someone else shot you and now they know the truth. So what happens to you? You could be charged with making a false report. It is a serious offense but in this case probably won't happen. You are the only one that got hurt. Of course, you will forever be known to the cops as, "the dumb butt kid who shot himself and lied about it"

Alot of things would happen. He could be charged with falsifying a police report among other things, if he refused to co-operate he could be charged with obstruction of Justice. If he Continued with the lie in court, Under oath it is perjury, which is a Federal Offense.

They could end up in jail. If your over 15 a lot can happen if you lie. I knew a nice 13 or 12 year old at school that brought a b.b gun and had to go to alternative school and had to go to prison but it wasnt adult prison ..its serious out in america

The person could end up in adult prison, if tried and convicted as an adult. Anyone lying to the Police must be persecuted, or there will be innocent people in prison falsely convicted.

I wouldn't reccomend lying to anyone about anything, because you could be charged with obstruction of justice, but, you ALWAYS have the right to remain silent.
