Only at first because you have to get used to it. Each time you go in for an adjustment/tightening, your teeth hurt for the next day or so and it can be difficult to talk or open your mouth all the way because of the slight pain. Sometimes people seem to have more trouble talking when they have to wear a retainer that changes the height of the palate, that's usually when people lisp a little.

Not really but it's more difficult to eat! When they tighten the braces chewing is usually a little difficult for a couple of days, you may opt for soft food. Hope this helps!

You will get a lisp for the first few months, but as you get use to your braces, it will naturally go away. It will make it difficult to talk for the first few days as it will be sore, however it will be fine thereafter. Hope this info helps!

Nah.
It's weird for the first day or two, getting used to these big hunks of metal glued to your teeth. Then you just get used to it.
Retainers are the pain in the ***. They get rid of half the maneuvering room you're used to on the roof of your mouth and depending on how it's molded, can make it impossible to make sounds that need your tongue on the back of your front teeth.
