why do some institution ask for Copy of Proof of Auto Insurance when applying for job?

I want to tutor but this company is asking for copy of proof of auto insurance. Why is that?

If you are going to use your vehicle for transportation while you are on company related trip,and you injure some one during an accident,your company seeks not to be liable.

maybe you need to ask the company why is that if not go to a different company to work or maybe you need to transport kids from one place to the other ask questions

It is just a way of showing that you are a responsible citizen that can be trusted.
