it depends on where you are and what type of car
auto trader mags and car clubs are a good place to start to investigate your price range
dont go to a car yard they will rip you off
if all else fails ebay is an ok way to sell but it is a pain in the butt
especially when there are thousands of time wasters on there
make sure if you sell it online the buyer pays all costs ie inspections and transport
so you get the dollars you want

eBay Motors is a good resource, but as others have mentioned, you must be clear on everything. Be sure to provide the VIN number to serious buyers, you reserve the right to end the auction early if you find a local buyer, purchaser pays for shipping, set a time limit on how long the winning bidder has to pick up the vehicle. Deposit due within 24 hours of auction end -- non-refundeable, balance due within 1 week via cashier's check, paypal or cash, no personal checks. These are only a few of the guidelines that will protect you as a seller and your purchaser. Hope it helps and good luck.

eBay motors, cars.com... or you could find a place that specialized in older cars if you want that market. Just search it on the good old Internet.
