The people who bought them new found out how crappy they are and how bad the resale value is so they figured they would just have to keep them...or they all just fell apart, (they are hyundai's you know. ) That is why you cannot find one for sale. Check your local impound lot.

I personally drive a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. We have not had one single problem with it in the 3 years we have driven it. The only thing that I would complain about is the fuel economy with the 6 cylinder engine, not too good at all. I have had several friends move from the Honda CRV to the Tucson and they have all had wonderful experiences with the Tucson over the CRV. Five years ago I would have said to buy the CRV, but the Santa Fe is now rated higher than the CRV for the 2009 model year and the Tucson is a rated a little behind the CRV. If your only concern is the gas mileage then buy a CRV it comes with a little 4 cylinder motor that is quite underpowered, but you will save lots on gas. If you want reliability for a fraction of the cost of the Honda, then buy the Tucson. Notice that I am not slamming the CRV, but you get more for your money in the Tucson. The main thing for me when I bought the Tucson was that it was much quieter on the road with wind etc. than the Honda. We found that the HOnda was quite noisy. Good luck.

Santa Fe's should be easy to find, though maybe in some parts of the country Hyundai's aren't as popular or available as here on the East Coast. The Tuscon hasn't been out that long and has been a hot seller so it may be harder to find them used.

As a Hyundai dealer I have new and program Hyundais on the lot right now. As far as value goes. The 2006 Tucsons are selling at action for the same price as a 2007 new. So there goes the theory that they don't hold their value.
Hyundai is now the #3 rated car in the world for consumer confidence and innitial quality. There goes the "disposable" arguement.
Any more dumb comments about one of the best makes on the road with the BEST WARRANTY in the business?
drop me a line if you'd like to know more.

Hyundai's are supposed to be a lot better than they used to be. Maybe the current owners don't want to give them up. It's also difficult to find used Harley's.

It shouldn't be that hard. I would try looking online (ebay, auto.com etc.). If you are really set on getting a used one. If not pick up a local auto trader and find some in there. I would look other than the dealership.

There just isn't that many out there.... most people that have bought them are still driving them....or have traded them in... it's just a numbers game... in 10 years they will be easier to find because there will be more than 37 of them on the road.

Try Craigslist.org and click on your area. They have a huge list of used automobiles for sale. Good luck!

I can't say I had that problem, I did a quick search on Carmax.com in the FL area and came up with 114 matches. You may need to expand your search area. Good luck. :)
