Unfortunately, it takes time. Nothing will speed it on. Keeping occupied helps to pass the time.
Do not go out looking for a replacement, that's not fair on the other person, to be a rebound relationship.
In time what is an intense ache will fade to a dim glow. You will remember, but it won't hurt so much.
Good luck with moving on.

Time will heal this. I think the best way is to meet someone knew. I broke up (yes I initiated it) with my boyfriend of 4 years. I was heartbroken for a month. But, after 4 months, I've met the love of my life. Seriously, I know it's soon but I'm so incredibly happy. Now I look back on my ex I feel a littls sad and a little wierd. BUT, I'm not heartbroken. I hope he is going ok. He wanted to be with me for life. He had not idea I wasn't happy with him. I don't know how u deal with being dumped after 4 years and you are still in love with the person. It was so hard to break up with him. However, it would have been worse if I had stayed. That wouldn't have been fair on me or him. Whilst breaking up is devastating and so incredibly difficult, it happens for a reason. TIME HEALS PAIN. It's true. Take it one day at a time. You can't just kill feelings of love. Not possible. But as I said time and other people that u meet will help you to move on. Good luck. Smile. Life is ok. xoxo

I know it doesn't feel like it will heal at the moment, but time really does heal. I remember my breakup. I was hurting so much, worried that it wouldnt go away. I was so attracted to my ex girlfriend. A few months later I don't have those feelings. Distract yourself with other things. Go out with friends, maybe meet other people. I found that when I found another girl I really liked thoughts of my ex faded a lot. I think of her every now and then but only of the good times and it makes me smile that I had the experience.

I don't think you can kill the feelings. But you can move on.

you can't really kill the feelings. they kind of have to go away by themselves...but sometimes when you think about them, if you make yourself think about things they did that made you mad you can stop those feelings for a little while.lol
