I know this doesn't sound like very hard work, but walking is a great thing to trim body fat. If you walk for about 30 - 45 minutes on a treadmill or just outside it trims a lot of body fat. Another thing you should focus on is eating healthier, its probably a thing you already know about, but just changing ur diet habits really helps. Just say you drink a lot of pop. If you drink about 15-30 cans a month and u stop drinking pop that is a cut down of almost 9000 calories (300 cal. per can x 30), which is almost 3 pounds..it doesn't sound like a lot but it is an extra 3 pounds. Chicken and Fish are also excellent sources of protein, which help build muscles. You should want to stay away from beef, steak, and hamburger, which is VERY high in fat. Another thing is obviously the exercise, i dieted in the summer for 3 months and lost 25 pounds, about 8 calories a month. Great exercises are the elliptical, treadmill, and especially bike riding, and also, I'm 13 too.

too much- a pound a week if you want to do it safely- what am I talking about! your only 13?! whats with the magic 100 pounds? leave your body alone are you scared of growing up? (I mean thisa seriously not as an insult)

Trust me as a 26 year old (well 26 next month so pretty much). I have had anorexia and/or bulimia since I was 16. I have been at chronically low weights and normal weights, and it all began with wanting to loose weight which I didnt really need to loose, I was still growing.
If you DO need to loose weight, your doctor will happily help you out, but I dont think so in this case as you do not need to loose weight, and this I base on my wide knowledge gathered from meeting many many many people with eating disorders throughout my times spent in hopsitals and outpatients. I feel like I have lost my life.

If I was able to not focus so much on my weight, who knows, I may have even had kids mby now, my younger sister has. I have had to cut short my education, cannot work a full time job and have to pay all my money to see a therapist just so I can carry on with the week. This is no life, it is the experience of an eating disorder. I have nothing else in my life but the desire to loose weight needlessly. I am fighting as much as possible, but it was 2 years before I got help for myself (when I was 18) and I think the damage inside my head, the chronic feelings and dreams of loosing weight, were already stuck firm in my mind, I am still trying to keep my head above water and not diet to death but its easier said then done.

Whats worse is I am not the only one,

an eating disorder is not the way to go, and dieting when your not even over weights and not yet 18 (13???) is asking for trouble

If you dont believe me see your doctor who will tell you if you need to loose weight, but an weight fixation is not a way of quality life.

If you want to lose weight so quickly, you WILL gain the weight back. Scientists have studied this and shown that when people diet, unless they begin eating healthy and exercising, they almost always gain the weight back. My advice: don't try to lose 10, 8, 6, or even 4 pounds in a month. Instead, eat healthy, avoid McDonald's and sweets, and exercise. That really is the only way you are going to slim down and stay slim.

Actually, the correct weight for a thirteen-year old is 115 pounds, and if you lose weight right now, it could stutter your growth...unless you don't want to get taller, so you should first consult our doctor.

If you really really really want to lose weight, you should exercise (running, swimming, sports, dance, even shopping because you walk around in the mall) and you should eat more fruits and more vegetables, and of course eat more whole grain stuff (whole grain breads, whole grain cereal, etc.). Whatever you do, DO NOT starve yourself, it's EXTREMELY unhealthy and there's a ton of more reasons etc.

Remember: everyone is different, and weight isn't everything. The extremely muscular guys that wrestle all weigh at least 200...yet they're not fat because muscle weighs more than fat.

Drink fresh water... lots of it... it flushes fat and toxins like nothing else... stay away from trans-fats which is anything at all that was cooked in fat, any sort of fat; it doesn't matter which, becomes trans-fat... in spite of what they say, that's the way it is... cold-pressed olive oil instead of butter and never eat margarine, sugar unless it it pure sugar cane or "Stevia" or pure, unpasteurized honey; Stay far away from any products containing "fructose"; read the ingredients before you buy cereals, etc. You can do it if you listen... Best to eat a big breakfast everyday... as much as you want, even meats, etc. (no fructose, no white sugars, no bread from store shelves... go to the baker for a good bread without bleached flour!) Eat vegetables for the last meal of the day and replace the table salt by sea salt... Your mom would benefit so much from these things that she wouldn't want to go back for nothing... once she tried! Good health to you and your family! The other thing that would help you tremendously is to eat black-eyed peas (beans) for the last meal of the day as it transforms sugars into pure energy... and helps lose weight and builds muscles... Take care!!! And yes! you can do it!
People sure have funny ideas!!! Learn to make sure of all things... There exists a way for everything under the sun... I've lost more than that in such a time frame... just had to eliminate pop, ice cream and stick and replace it with water...
Keep in mind that once the bad fats are out of your body because you are eating well, and if it proves that you are still heavier than you think you want to be, don't fret as you will be fit and in perfect shape for your age and height...
I'm also taking for granted that at your age, you know the importance of some physical activity... which is important at any age as the human body was invented or should I say created before the automobile, plane, train, etc. and is meant to move....
Addition
Dieting is no good for anyone... you just gain back with a vengence... this here is a way of life... and you'll get to where you want to be with it, without hurting yourself and you'll get to where you need to be... Period! Then just keep up the good habits and that's it!!!

Please you do not need to loose any weight in fact you are a little under what you should be for your height and age.
You are probably a lovely person and you need to feel confident about yourself has someone commented on your size I really hope not. That sort of thing makes me very angry young girls your age should be enjoying life and not worrying about what they look like or "if I loose weight will the boys look at me more" they will look at you anyway if they like you.
Please go out enjoy yourself your body will loose the weight naturally when it needs to you are approaching an age where you need all your energy because puberty if it hasnt arrived is on its way and you need to keep your body going. Eat healthily but dont diet.

i wouldnt suggest anyone try to loose that much weight that quickly for a number of reasons
1) its not going to be a heatly method youd have to use
2) it wont keep the weight off as your body will be changing too quickly

do you really need to lose 10 pounds? what is your reason for wanting to? if you really want to then i have some suggestions but only because i dont want you to use some silly unhealthy method (like starving yourself and giving yourself an eating disorder!!!!)

3 times a week go running
- 5 mins warm up
- 30 seconds at 80% of your maximum effort
- 2 mins easy pace
- 20 seconds at 90% of your maximum effort
- 2 mins easy pace
- 10 seconds at 100% effort
- 2 mins easy pace

then repeat the process going from 10 seconds max again up to the 30 seconds (including the 2 mins easy pace between)

always end with a 5 min warm down easy pace

this will give you around a 25 min work out which might not sound a lot but try it out for a few weeks and you will really notice the results. its called interval training and will give a lot more benefit to losing weight than doing long low intense training

also eat healthy (that doesnt mean one meal a day by the way)

for weight loss eat 5-6 smaller meals over the course of a day including lots of fruit and veg and protein.

this works because your body starts to realise over time that you are feeding it every couple to 3 hours so never has to guess when its next meal is coming so the process of storing fat isnt as necessary (as long as you arent eating lots of high fat food) when you go on a " diet " and cut down how much you eat you loose weight to start with but after a short while this will stop and when you go back to eating normally you will put on more weight than before. this is due to your body going into the starvation mode and wants to hold onto body fat to protect yourself. also your metobalism will slow down and so when you do start eating more you wont burn up as much

when you eat 5-6 meals a day your metabolism will increase as it will have constant fuel. also if you eat 5-6 times a day you will tend to eat before you start getting too hungry so you will find you will eat smaller portions and probably less calories.

I hope this helps but as i said before i dont think you need to be loosing weight but i would prefer to give some healthy adivce rather than you going down the wrong path and getting health problems and an eating disorder

Thirteen years old? Thats like in the middle of the biggest growth period in your life. You are SUPPOSE to GAIN weight during that period, not lose it. Your height will get stunted. If you really think its an issue, just excercise and eat healthier...its that simple.
