I've gotten in this discussion many times, doesn't it seem more likely that Mary was cheating on Joseph, didn't want to tell him, so when He found out she was pregnant she made up a little fib?

Everything about Our Lady points straight back to the Father, Whose faithful daughter she is; to the Son, Whose mother she is; and to the Holy Ghost Who overshadowed her. There is no one in all of History whose relationship with God is as complex, fulfilled, and achingly beautiful as Mary's. She is not only the greatest of Saints, she is our Mother, as Jesus is our Brother and Savior. In honoring her, we honor Him -- and imitate Him, as we are admonished to both honor our parents and imitate Christ, Who loved His Mother. Our relationship with Mary is that of a child to a blessed Mother who was given to us as Jesus gave her to John at the Cross. She is our spiritual Mother (Revelation 12:17 -- And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ), and she wants to pray for us.

Hail, Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

I know quite a few people that carry this idea, kinda makes you think doesn't it? If in fact it was just a "fib" it kinda breaks down the whole "son of god thing". If the story of Jesus happened in modern day America, do you think people would believe Mary? Or think just just got knocked up and was trying to cover it it up?

Most reasonably intelligent people will tell you that if there was really a Mary , Joseph and Jesus that Joseph is Jesus' father. Why else would the Bible list Joseph's lineage if he is only Jesus' step father?

no....Mary didn't cheat on Joseph. because if she did, then Jesus wouldn't be our Savior. Jesus wasn't born into sin like the rest of us were so that made him the perfect sacrifice for all of us. and in case you didn't know, back then people sacrificed their lambs, pigs, or any other animal that was considered clean, and no imperfections to pay for their sins....so God planted his seed in one of Mary's eggs and she had Jesus....he was perfect, in every way so it was part of Gods plan that Jesus' blood was to pay our way into heaven.

Seriously, what other possible explanation could there be - excluding the preposterous? This was the biggest scam in the history of the world!

Somehow one gathers you are not a Catholic. The impression is also gained that you are a teenager. Insulting other people's religious beliefs is legal but about as mature as mocking Orthodox Jews or the Amish for the way they dress. Grow up,junior.

That's Blashemy. You really don't know what you are saying and if I were you I would be asking for forgiveness. Just because you have a corrupt mind doesn't mean the people in the Bible days are the same. I will remember to pray for you.

REALLY!
