22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
(Galatians 5:22-23)
What does it mean to me? It means that God is able to transform stubborn, rebellious and selfish people to become like His glorious Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and make us so like Him that it will be possible to live together in harmony, love and peace forever in a future Kingdom, by the power of His Holy Spirit dwelling in us.
It is the only hope for the future.

Paul's letter to the church in Galatia highlights the following fruits of the spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
Growing these "fruits" within our hearts as we commune with the Holy Spirit will bring us to a lifestyle of righteousness as we ever seek to model Jesus in our lives.
In Christ,

Galatians 5
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another
It means if we fulfil the fruits of the spirit
we will walk in the spirit
we will become a whole person
that needs nothing

Dear Truth - good question. The gifts of the Spirit (Gal 5.22) are just that, gifts which the Spirit gives to His children according to his good purpose. I lack many of these wonderful virtues in my own life even after decades of following Christ, virtures such as patience and kindness, gentleness and self control. And so I pray and seek these gifts.
Now lawlessness means you are not being led by the Sprit, Gal 5.18, but rather by the flesh, Gal 5.19. Being "led by" means that it is either the Spirit or the flesh which directs and controls our lives. But, and this is important to understand, if you are being led by the Spirit you can and still do sin, but you don't, and here is the really key word, "practice", Gal 5.21, that sin. It doesn't control your life, you are not led by it. And finally, remember that whenever we do slip, and sin, whether they be small or large sins in our eyes, we simply turn to the cross ask God to forgive these sins and then be at rest knowing that they are forgiven. You see, asking for forgiveness when we already know that Christ died for us on the cross is important more for us as sinners than for God. It reinforces our faith in what He did for us. Thanks for the interesting question.

These are attributes of God that every Christian should possess. They are: Love, peace, joy, self-control, gentleness, kindness, goodness, forbearance, and meekness.
I hope to possess all simultaneously before I leave this planet.
God bless
