1. I live in fear in the country in upper New York State.
2. Pitbulls, slobs, and Hillibillies all around me. I have never in my life lived in a county of such decay, poverty and disrespect for others - I hate it here.
3. Police does not help (they R probably all related to that bunch)
4. Longing to move back to Minnesota where life was more normal.
5. Gun is no solution - brings only retaliation
6. Pitbulls - get yourself a cattle prod for protection while out walking
7. Perhaps you need to care less of the safety of the wreckless children. Drive as you always do, but be careful so you don't hit the darlings. Sooner or later some of the wreckless Hillbillie drives is going to run over these creatures, and that will be the end of it.
**addition:
From what I have learned there are leash laws nation wide, however, hillbillies who are owners of pitbulls dare to ignore them because they are bullying people.

Got the same problem here across the road, minus the pit bull, they have a yappy little white thing that just doesn't know when to stop.
It's like an out of control kindy going on in this street since they moved in, I can't even back the car out of my own driveway without having to move the bikes from the middle of the road. I spoke to the mother about it and she was truly sorry and told the kids to apologise which they all did but it only took overnight before it all started again.
I'll be watching what answers you receive just to give me some more tips, annoying problem isn't it?
I know it's illegal to run kids over, but what about dogs?
Good luck with yours Teoshe.

my neighbors are the same..the pit bull jumped the four ft. fence and attacked my shih tzu who was on a leash in my hand.
it happened so fast i could not react in time but i saved him from certain death by scaring off the pit bull. I just called animal control ..the neighbors had three dogs..one pit bull that did the damage..none had shots or a license..so the neighbor had to pay hundreds of dollars fine..and i don't care that we are not friends..we never were..but I had to take my dog to the vet and I did not charge them the vet bill, as I thought I would do the Noble thing..but looking back i should have went to small claims court as these arrogant neighbors thought i was so wrong to call the cops on them..too bad..if you do the crime..then you do the time..if my dog would attack another dog..then i would be morally obligated to pay the damages and any fine...some people are just ignorant of their pet or children's behavior..and yes we too have children in the neighborhood who are reckless and darting in and out of traffic..God Help you if you should hit one of them as you would probably get sued and lose your house...but a pit bull with or without a fence..is bad news..as they can jump an average fence...it happened to me.

Call the police for noise issues or if children and dogs are in your property. Maybe talk directly to them about your concerns, but approach it nicely, saying you're concerned about the ruccus and the safety of the kids. As for the pitbull any dog should be on a leash or run when it's outside, fence or no fence. If it doesn't have a restraint and walks around the neighborhood, then I would call animal control to talk to the neighbors. Good luck, it sounds really annoying.

dogs need to be on a leash or chained up if outside. I would call the police. A pit bull is the most dangerous dog. As far as bikes, someone is bound to get hurt and learn the hard way.

This has become a big problem of young homeowners. They move in inside the box not knowing that there really are no boundaries. People with children also do not realize that other people do not give a good god damn about their children! Keep your kids and pets out of the street. Let us pray when they do venture into the street.
Just like when you are on the highway, nobody cares about hitting you when you weave in or out. THINK ABOUT IT! Now you think about your reckless children! What have you taught them!

I would ask the police department to talk with the parents about it, because you are concerned that one of the children or the dog might get hit by a car. Also check in your county about leash laws. If the dog is leaving it's property, without a leash, that is probably against the county leash laws.

One way would be to try and get a hold of the parents and share your concerns with them. Explain, that your afraid one of them could get seriously hurt. No parent should ignore a warning about there child. The police should be a second decision alway confront the parents first at least they would see that they were informed of the problem or concern.
Good luck!

A fence around YOUR area is something you can do to keep their kids & dog at bay. The issues about their kids on bikes.... LOL Sooner or later that will solve itself provided your street has good traffic flow.

Get a dog whistle. Use it at night to drive your neighbor's dog nuts and in turn drive your neighbors frantic, kids included.
Don't forget, the dog is the only one that will hear the dog whistle. Late at night the dog will really act up. I suggest around 2:00 AM is best.
