Very, very old guy with enormous wallet marries young blonde model.

Does the old guy ever really know if the model truly loves him? Or will he sometimes think if the model is just in it for the huge reward of eternal wealth? Does he feel truly loved, you think?

God offers us eternal life in Heaven as a reward for loving him. Do you think God feels loved? Or will he sometimes think we're all just in it for the reward? Or shouldn't I worry so much about His feelings?

...um yes, I do agree with the silliness of the ticket-to-Heaven business,
but
on the other hand what was poor Howard supposed to do if he actually loved the lady? Lock up his money in a casket and bury it where no one would find it again, or donate it all to the orphans and live a life of clean and happy moderation with Anna?
...Well on the third hand, boasting about his money all the time does not help either...

Ok, so perhaps God knows that people do need a *reason* to love someone, Him included, and "being loved back", and "being taken care of" are quite good reasons (even for those who are not impressed by the "having been created by Him" reason). So the logic behind this might be "I love you, and I'll prove it to you by taking good care of you - if you love me too, that is".

That's not so bad, except, on the fourth hand - why would I take better care of you *after* you die?...

No Marshall would never know if Anna Nicole loved him. But in the same way that many ancient rich men marry Playboy girls (yes for their IQ and witty banter), they don't really care about love. The point is everyone in the world knows Playboy girls marry rich old men b/c they are rich. The Playboy bunnies have the desire to marry rich. The old men have the desire to have people admire their gorgeous wife, the fact that they are rich enough to possess her. As a young boy, he wanted to be rich enough to marry a pinup girl. He acheieved his dreams.

God offers eternal life for loving him but just like Howard Marshall I doubt he cares at all if he is "loved" or not. If there are actually 2000 different gods all up there, then he gets the pat on the back from his friends b/c more of the "lil people" love him than most of the other gods. It's a status symbol.

If you are deist, that god has moved on to another project years and years ago. It hasn't really occured to him that we "lil people" are still down here worshipping him. His new project is his focus--can you remember the individual details of your first project at your career?

If there is just one God up there and he is watching us all the time, he should have more on his plate that merely seeing if everyones motives are pure. And either way, he automatically knows if they are pure or not. He doesn't even have to wonder (so yeah I guess just like Howard Marshall--he already knows the answer)

However, yeah he should think they are all in it for the reward. After all the questions about can atheists have morals, and if you aren't christian how do you know right from wrong--clearly they all admit that if they weren't christian and promised this heaven paved with gold, they would be doing whatever they feel like. I guess it really depends on which god is upt here judging. Old Test, New Test, or any of the 2000 others.

Probably more likely God is standing around working on his 5 or 6th universe and his buddies bring beer over and pat him on the back, and say Dude you got over 51% on Earth. And the hard working programmer looks around confused and says "earth?? which one was that?" Yeah I wouldn't waste too much of your time worried about his feelings. I mean after all Howard Marshall just gave her more money so that he didn't have to hear her talk about "feelings". Isn't that why you marry a PB bunny? B/c you didn't think they talked?

But yes it is my feeling that when you say you do good deeds b/c God says those that do get into heaven, and you say you go to church on sunday b/c God says those that do get into heaven, and you deny all the parts of the bible that talk about things that don't appeal to you/the splinter in your own eye in order to point out all the sins someome else is committing (the log in someone else's)-- God definitely doesn't feel loved. All the wars and crime in his name...the god of the old testament would be pleased. But that New Testament loving and caring guy would be disgusted. He'd punish and reward based on your actions not based on the label you put on your shirt. I can see it now...st petes gate. "But I told everyone I was christian. I pointed out everyone's flaws. what do you mean that wasn't good enough?...well if you are letting that kind of rifraff in I'd rather not be there anyway. heard the food isn't even all that good"

Anna was a trophy that J. Howard Marshall bought as he had the money to do so. In almost the same way, the way christianity is sometimes portrayed you'd think the human race was just a trophy to that deity to use and dispose of as he saw fit.

That's a very good way of putting it.

The Christian god does indeed seem to view his followers as more akin to trophies. You ask many a Christian why they are Christian and they will tell you so that they will have eternal life, its the reward they are after. (To me, that seems like a bad reason to follow a religion.) Of course this god is worse, not only does he use a reward to get followers he uses the threat of eternal damnation and hellfire if we don't comply.

Okay Reverend, get a soap box somewhere with a logical question. God does not like you wasting brain cells.

Marshall was a very smart rich man. He knew the old maxim:
Money does not buy love.
But it sure rents some first class affection.

Stop tacking on something about religion that you feel justifies posting this drivel. Are you grown up or just a teenager?
