Go buy one of those Boboli pizza crusts and cut up a lot of different toppings. The boys can help you put on the toppings, the sauce and the cheese.

Sound like the adults will have to pretty much do all the prep work and just let them stir the pots or do the mixing, but any frying and saute work is left to the adults..
You can use the reasoning that the knives are sharp and the boiling water too hot and dangerous.
How about a casserole?
They can mix everything in a bowl and pour into a baking dish.
Place in the oven.
Check out the Ore-Ida website for a hashbrown casserole or tater-tot casserole. They're pretty simple and taste pretty good. All the potatoes are already cut and it uses canned soups. You'll have to cut the onions or any veggies (just a couple items).
For example, You can even skip the green onions, but everything is ready to be mixed. I've tried this recipe and it turned out really nice.
Cheesy Potato Casserole
- 1 30 oz. bag Ore-Ida® Country Style Hash Browns
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups crushed corn flakes
- 3 green onions, (tops and most of the green part), chopped
- ¼ cup butter or margarine melted
Mix soup, sour cream, salt, pepper, green onions and cheese in a large mixing bowl.
Add Ore-Ida® Country Style Hash Browns and stir to combine.
Place in greased 13x9 pan.
Top with butter and cornflakes mixed together.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until bubbly around the edges.

She will love this and the boys can dump the seasonings in and stir the dressing. You can hand them the cut up veggies to throw in. This really is great. I make it all the time. My boys love it and so do I. This is what I would want for my mothers day. And you're on your own for clean up duty. lol Congrats on the boys. I have twin boys also.
Chicken Salad Deluxe
1 ¼ cups prepared buttermilk salad dressing – I make my own from the dry pack.
½ cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons half and half
1 ¾ teaspoons Beau Monde seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
5 whole chicken breasts (about 2 pounds), skinned cooked and cubed – I boil mine in chicken stock
10 oz. shell macaroni, cooked, rinsed, and drained and cooled
3 cups diced celery
2 ½ cups seedless green grapes, cut lengthwise into halves
12 oz slivered almonds, reserve 1 tablespoon for garnish
2 cans (2.25 oz each) sliced water chestnuts
½ cup chopped onion
Lettuce leaves
Cantaloupe slices
Combine salad dressing, mayonnaise, half and half, seasoning, salt and pepper in small bowl; blend will. Cover; refrigerate overnight to blend flavors.
Combine chicken, shells, celery grapes, almonds, water chestnuts and onion in large bowl. Pour dressing over salad; toss gently to coat. Serve on lettuce. Garnish with reserved almonds. Serve with cantaloupe slices.
Makes 20 servings, but my family of 4 eats half the first day and finishes the rest the next. This is my all time favorite pasta dish. What’s nice is you can do the dressing one day and do the rest the next.

peel hard boiled eggs and refill them after you make up the egg mixture
they can stir the batter and ice cupcakes
