I love to hear questions from teenagers like this- I am the mom of a 15 yr. old and a 18 yr.old. God understands your heart so before reading your Bible pray that He will reveal the truth to your heart, one step at a time- He knows how much you can handle at one time. Do not give up. Also are you involved in a strong youth ministry at your church- being with others your own age that are wanting to follow Him helps in your growth. Same with any one, even adults. About staying a virgin, until you are married- God is the one that keep you pure. It is not easy, believe me, before I got married 25 years ago, my husband and I wanted to have sex, but through the grace of Almighty God we abstained until marriage. It is not easy but it is possible with Him. Hang in there!!!!!!!!

When you read the Bible first, ask God for wisdom in understand what He is saying.
Get a version that is easy to understand like the New International Version. Also a Bible concordance is very helpful.because you can look up scriptures that you want to study.
It is helpful to read the Bible everyday but, not wrong for you not to. Mostly keep your eye on Jesus and not on what you should or should not do. The more we worry about sinning our focus is on sin.
As for not being tempted physically, keep your eye and heart on Jesus. Pray non stop. Being tempted is a problem for all Christians. Remember that Jesus was tempted in every way but, did not sin. He was perfect. We are not.
Something helpful, don't place yourself in a tempting situation if you don't want to be tempted and hang out with other people who feel the same way. This will help you.

Get a bible that is more suited to your age. There are great teenage Bibles out there. Try and start by meditating on one verse every day. There is no law in the bible that says you have to read it everyday. Although it is helpful it is not law. So if you miss a few days RELAX!! God will not strike you down. the one thing to learn in life is that humans make mistakes. ALL THE TIME. Also there are daily devotionals books you can do that help you through the bible. Go with your mum to a Christian bookstore and look around
There is no way not to be tempted about that other thing. It is normal to want to to that. Being tempted to do something is not a sin. Remember if it happened it Jesus then it's gonna happen to u. Try and distract yourself. Or pray like mad. God Bless and keep trying.

Bible: You could join a youth group in the Church of your choice. Find one that has an array of activities that may interest you. The Youth Pastors do a really great job regarding bible study and this may keep you interest.
Sex: When you are tempted, say "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Then think about if you become pregnant and the life you could not give the unborn child. What would stop me cold is the threat of AIDS, herpes and gonorrhea, etc. Ewww
P.S. Don't believe the guys if they say they love you---they don't. They just tell you what you want to hear so they can get close to you. Nothing shameful about being a virgin. It is a rarity these days.

God lova, would you try this. I read about how you were having a problem understanding you bible. You know what, I was in church all my life for about 17 years. I thought I understood it very well. But then the Lord spoke to me and said, "I have to re-teach you everything you know". So, what the Lord showed me was to start a journal of everything I was reading. When I came to a passage that I did not understand, I kept reading it until God gave me the revelation of it. Just keep reading it and don't leave a passage until the Holy Spirit gives you the understanding. As I continued my journal, God increased my understanding and He begin to unfold mysteries to me. As for temptations with boys. You have to read and pray everyday, but there is what is called a "visitation" from the Lord which will give you supernatural strength in dealing with that type of thing. When I started ministry, I was tempted by women also, but God kept visiting me in my dreams and it was so powerful all I could think about was God all the time. Temptation with women has never really hurt me since. Now, I have been 13 years without a woman. But my wife is coming soon. Just as God for his visitation upon you. You will see what happens.

you know God's main point is that you know him and his ways...I've been a christian for most of my life but you know it is hard to understand the bible sometimes but try and keep at it because there will be days where you'll be reading a verse that you've read 100 times before and sudenly that verse will come alive to you and you will get a wonderful revelation of what that verse means. God likes to give you specific Revelations for your walk :)
Knowing God is about Love that is awsome that you have the drive to stay pure...just be stubborn in this and when you find yourself in a questionable situation either get out or pray like crazy! I wanted to remain a virgin until I got married and I almost made it. But 3 weeks before our wedding I messed up. I know God has forgiven me but it was kinda sad on the wedding night and it wasn't special at all ...nothing new just routine...you know???
Anyways Just keep loving :) try and know the Character of God. His Love, His forgiveness
He sees you as a beautiful person and he is so so proud of you! keep holding on!

I wonder what translation you are reading, the King James Version is difficult to understand. You might try the New International Version or the Clear Word. Also there are websites that offer parallel translations on one site to help you understand.
As far as the young men, I understand where you are coming from. In my experience it is much easier to date a Christian man because when you say to him, we can't do this or we have to stop, he knows where you are coming from. If you fall for a guy who does not believe; it will be more difficult. When you suggest stopping, he is not only going to want to know why but he will probably try to convince you how wrong you are. If you don't believe that look around this site for reactions to Christians from non believers. You can try group dating or make sure you do not have alot of time alone in private places. If you stick with it, you won't be sorry. It will be very special when you are married and you can say to your husband 'you are the only one for me.'
