That guy above me had a terrible answer. If you consume 770 calories a day, you'll look like a POW in a month. Your body needs, at minimum, 2000 calories a day. YOu'll lose bone density, you'll lose muscle mass and fat mass, your cardiopulmonary system, your organs and your cells will start cannibalizing themselves so you can survive. Basically, you're eating nothing.

This will affect your brain, your heart, your body negatively.

Plus, your friend can't burn 230 calories a day. Just lying around, doing NOTHING in one day, the average healthy person burns from 900-1000 calories a day. Throw in walking, moving, and everything you do a day, most people average 2000 calories a day.

Calories are HEALTHY. You need to have them. They give you vitamins and minerals for your body to work. They give you energy to do your everyday activities.

To answer the question, if you consume 770 calories a day, you're going to waste away quickly. Your body will easily get injured, your mind won't work right, and you're anorexic.

That is very unhealthy. Also, she's consuming 1000 a day, and probably has a net calorie intake of around -1500 unless she has a very slow metabolism.

Eating that little can cause problems with brain development and function as well as the function of other organs in the body. It also may be counterproductive, as the body will start storing more fat when it thinks that it is going through a "starvation" period so that it has energy for later times to come, if the starvation period worsens. And it will also most likely consume muscle, catabolism, which really makes you look bad as muscle is what provides your body with the nice tone we all strive for. Metabolism will slow down to a crawl, making her feel tired and less energetic, and making weight loss even HARDER as the body will start requiring less and less calories to burn everyday (which of course, will raise the net calorie level in the body to swing in its favor). This is also counterproductive and causes rebound effects.

She will lose around 1kg a week give or take. But if u wanted to tell her that her eating habits are unhealthy, its better to point out that with 770cals, she will most probably have not have gotten enough nutrients. Becaause theoretically, a normal human can function well with a minimum of 500 cal. Try suggesting that she up it slowly by suggesting nutritious things to add to her meals. Maybe more fruits or supplements maybe.

if you consume less calories than the BMR requires then the metabolic rate will slow. depending on the length of this state the body can catabolize a little or a lot of muscle mass. consuming less calories than the BMR requires is the single best way to increase the body fat percentage

Your friend needs help. This is very unhealthy. Her body will soon, if it has not already, go into starvation mode. Once she starts eating normally again she will gain a lot more weight because her body will be preparing for another starvation time. Her fat cells will stock up so that way if she starves herself again it will have something to fall back. She sounds borderline anorexic. Get her help!

in a typical diet, you need to consume 2000 calorie/day. it takes about 3500 calorie to gain or lose a pound of weight. she has negative calorie intake of 1230. so 1230*7days=8600 calories. she is losing more than 2 pounds a week. thats unhealthy.
