Sorry, I didn't really expect to argue semantics: Why do ~some~ relgious folks simultaneously: (1) claim that science comes from God; and (2) Reject certain scientific claims?

Frankly, I don't understand why some of you are claiming to not have rejected science. It is clear that science is not compatible with many religions.

We don't reject science, just some of the conclusions you've reached.

I've got great hope for science that one day they will prove God exists in a way that we non-scientific believers never can.

What aspects of science are u talking about? There is astronomy the study of the planets, which proofs there is a higher power, or biology the study of all living things, which also proves there is a higher power. Therefore, unless the religious people you are talking about have no idea about science, they should see that science and God go hand in hand. After all how else can you prove the existence of other planets in the solar system, and as I see it, science is just proving that there is a higher power. And once you are sure you proved that there is a Saturn, then tell me how it got there.

If you were to take the time to actually look into different "religious" groups you will find that a large majority does accept "factual" science. Also try reading up on a topic called "intelligent design"..and there is a difference in being "religious" and having faith and a belief system that entails not only God, but Jesus and the holy spirit.

Who says religious folks reject science? We come in a variety of types, some might be totally ignorant of science and some are scientists themselves.

I do not know 'religious folk' that reject science currently; I just discern currently there is a difference between science theory and science fact. Just as there is a difference between the scriptural old testament and the unscriptural old testament. (Yes, there are currently 2 'old testaments)! That is part of where the division in 'Christianity' presently in USA comes from.

no religion does not reject sciences. if you study Quran, it says, "and realize that the sun is traveling towards its destination."
and it proves out to be true in 1920, that everything including sun is not stationary. before that everyone thought that only our earth is revolving.
and many other things about physics are true.
