If you don't have a religious preference or really care about the games religion plays or even care about the scare tactics of heaven and hell does anything matter? what about marriage and relations with other people? if you are married then does it matter if you have relations with other people? What if you weren't looking for it but something happened? If there is no god then don't we have to make up our own rules for life? what is the meaning of life?

Our purpose is to love our creator, God, and others that God has created. God willed that we exist in His image so that He might reveal Himself to us through His perfect love and righteousness. By “in His image,” I mean, we have personalities and power, we can embrace wisdom and knowledge, we recognize justice, and we can love. Our purpose is to glorify our Creator in every word or action.

Yeah, I've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: People aren't wearing enough hats. Two: Matter is energy. In the universe there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this "soul" does not exist ab initio as orthodox Christianity teaches; it has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.

If you do believe in the God head, then you already know that some how you were put on this earth to change someone or just yourself, and become the kind of person God knows you can be.
However, that is not your question, you asked is there a meaning to life? The meaning is to find God, and try to become like him, because he loves us, he puts us through things he knows isn't to hard for us, so we go through them and we either grow stronger or become weaker from the experience its our choice. And if someone like you is questioning life, then you have forgotten that God loves you, and wants you to live life to the fullest, much like what your family wants, that is if they really care about you, but even if no one on earth does, remember, there is a Heavenly Father, who sent you to earth, so you wolud have a chance to become even as he is in heaven, and that there is something here on earth, that only you can do. You might not know it when the time comes, but it will come back to you, and then you will know.

The meaning of life is both profound and simple.

It answers the order of creation, the motive of existence and the mystery of the universe to ourselves.

The meaning of life is:
Awareness Loves Life (A-L-L)
See: http://ucadia.org/uca/u23/230600.htm

Unfortunately, because we are life, we see the statement as
Life Loves Awareness (L-L-A).

But if you were able to comprehend just one thought of the universe from its perspective, then you'd see that the greatest expression of existence is life- that the key to life is existence.

That living is more important than knowing everything.

For example, there is a wonderful quote from buddhism-
before enlightenment, chop wood and carry water;
after enlightenment, chop wood and carry water.

Sadly, we sometimes are mistaken in believing that if we knew everything, our lives would be better. I can assure you that is not the case. Living is what counts.

All the very best.

Lack of religious belief doesn't mean that you'll engage in cheating and other forms of dickery. An atheist may not cheat on their spouse, because, oh, I don't know, maybe they love them?

Morality doesn't come from God. Morality comes from knowing that something will hurt someone else, and thus, it's a bad idea to do said thing.

Personally Lars, if you ask me, life is meant to be lived. I don't really care about a lot of things, and troubles are always bothering the human race. I just think you should live life as it comes to you, and be thankful for what you get and how people are.

Let us start with the end in mind. I recently heard that people's #1 complaints on their deathbeds are:
A. relationships with people
B. contribution
Thus, I believe the meaning of life is to love and accept others, and nurture your relationships with friends, family, and loved ones...and also to give to the world, to leave something of value behind. Take religion out of it, take heaven and hell out of it...these are all insignificant notions humans made up. I believe God has nothing to do with religion.

Your Answer.....!

(Ecclesiastes 12:13-13) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man.

(Ecc 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.

Thanks, RR
