Do you want to breed(NOT spelled BREAD,btw) your mutt/mongrel "cuz she's *SO* KEEE-UTE & you 'WUV' her"?

Do you think that your "full-blooded" (NO SUCH THING!)animal is AUTOMATICALLY worthy of breeding from ?

Do you imagine that you can properly care for however many pups FOREVER-at minimum 10 weeks?

Do you think dogs have "periods" & are clueless enough to ask faceless( & possibly brainless ) strangers in cyberspace when to BREAD them in that "period"?

Are you prepared for emergency surgery at 3 am to save the bitc-h & pups ...at HUGE COST?
Would you have a clue(w/out asking the faceless & brainless cyberspace idiots) what *IS* an emergency?

Can you KILL defective pups? RECOGNIZE them? Tube feed a litter of orphans-every 2 hrs.for WEEKS? Know about docking & dewclaws & vaccines & weaning & worming schedules?ETC.?

If ANY of these basic questions baffle you....make you uncomfortable....you ARE just a puppymill wannabe.
One litter or a thousand....no difference.

Well said. But of course all the morons to which this applies will sadly NOT see themselves in this category and will continue on in their lame and selfish pursuits.

I would never breed any of my animals. I volunteer at an animal shelter, so, I see the pet overpopulation effects with my own eyes. If I got an animal that was already pregnant or something that I couldn't help then I would not want to Kill any of them. What would classify the pups as defective? Either way I don't breed my animals and I don't think people should be letting their animals have kittens or puppies. Breeding should be left to very very experienced people so that we can cut the number of births and therefore the number of euthanizations(sp?).

to answer your question no i don't want to be a puppymill wannabe i have a cross yorkie/westie and he is 6mths old and due to be castrated but i am grateful to the people that did breed his parents or i wouldnt have such a beautiful puppy,so not everyone wants to breed their dogs to make a lot of money but to pass on a lovely pair of dogs with good breeding doesnt matter if they are cross or pure bred as long as the parents are healthy and in a loving home, but please give breeders a break because without them we wouldnt have lovely dogs to sit on this site and boast about.but i do agree with you about puppy farms the only way these people can get away with it is if people buy from them, you should never buy a puppy without seeing the parents and where these puppies have been kept decent breeders wont mind you visiting and asking lots of questions so if everyone was more concerned with where their puppies come from and not about saving a few quid these horrible puppy farms wood go out of business. the basic rules of buying a puppy is if the breeder is advertising more than one breed make sure they are registered breeder but if you want a cross breed then go and see the pups first make sure the female dog is still with the pups and better still buy from a breeder that has both parents and then you can see what sort of pup you will have because with cross breeds you can get a bad mixture of two sorts of breeds if the parents are well behaved and not snappy then there is a good chance that the pup will be nice.but with buying any dog there are risks.but the best thing to do when looking for a new pet is see if you can get a rescue dog i would have done this but i have a rescue dog and a cat already and i needed to get a puppy.

Thank you! I feel the same way-I volunteer at my local SPCA and see the effect of puppy mills-also I cant even walk into a pet store, and not leave feeling disgusted...People sure love to exploit anything and everything-love to make money....Greed creates sick puppies, and abandoned dogs-but many think they are disposable!

You always say it like it is ;-)
I am definitely not a puppy mill and I never want to be. I would rather spay and neuter my animals and try to save the lives of animals in shelters rather than adding to the problem.

Your post was right on! I have wanted to say that myself. Unfortunately it is only reponsible pet owners that will respond to this post. I just don't think you can get through to the idiotic people who just don't get it! I have a beautiful Lhasa that I adopted from the pound, and she was a sorry mess, somebody's throw away dog. Keep preachin' brother, I am behind you all the way!

Hey man, you rock, as you Americans might say. I've been checking out your answers for a while and even if they're harsh (!!!!) you always tell the truth about responsible pet ownership. Too bad some people who think their dogs are human babies can't handle it. Keep it up, old chap!
