Why do Christians engage in fear mongering esp amongst children ?

Jesus loves you - but your going to have to change because your really no good the way you are

If you don't say these magic words - you won't change and then - your going to hell

You by nature are just plain bad but your made in the image of god - but- God accepts everyone but not you ya ******* etc

Burning in hell for all eternity because you took that jelly bean Billy -burning in hell fire

They threaten children they threaten adults - they threaten people they know people they don't - all in the message of "good news"

Good news if you do what I tell you right now you won't be burned alive ! Isn't that good news ? I am sure you want to hear more on how to avoid eternal torture

It is how they were raised, it is an issue of control. They lack control over god and nature, so they must do their best to control other people. This way they feel superior to other people and closer to god.

Well, again, we have rantings & generalizations about some obscure sect no one but you know about. No fear mongering that I've seen. No threats of hell. Certainly don't address our precious children as bastards (or little pigs). No "jelly bean theft equals burning in Hell" threats. I don't think I've ever threatened people in this way.....I don't even have the power to threaten people with hell. Nope. Nada. Zero. \
But the good news we share with children and adults is that God loves you. And that He will forgive the wrong things you do if you ask Him even if you steal a jelly bean. He made a way for you to be forgiven through His Only Son, Jesus. Jesus paid for all your sins with His life on a cross. He took your place of punishment. Do you believe Jesus died for you? Tell Him so and God will give you eternal life. Hell is explained according to age and questions asked by the child. It's not so threatening at all, and there's no need to threaten a child or anyone else. We can't send anyone to hell. It's a person's personal choice that sends them to hell. It would be nice if you people that make these outrageous accusations would keep a listing of where you experience what you're claiming, the date, name of church or pastor, location, and exactly why you say what you do. I've been in church all my life (and not the same one), and became a Christian about 40 years ago. I've visited lots of different denominations and attended lots of seminars, revivals, etc. I just haven't seen or heard a "hell-fire-damnation" sermon since the 50's. I admit there are still probably some around, but they are the minority at best and certainly are not main-stream protestant churches. And I'm not saying that is always the wrong approach in an adult arena, but probably not the best way to win people to Christ. He is a loving Savior and Just. The truth in the Bible cuts all of us sometimes but if there is a fire in your building, would you quietly persuade people to follow you or would you shout the danger from the rooftops? Some Christians might get a little over zealous in persuading the lost to follow Christ...I admit that, but, I don't think it is out of hate but concern for impending danger. This argument goes on & on everyday on here and there's never any resolve. But I think if both sides, Christians & non-believers would just quit making generalized preconceived statements we all might have a friendlier community for all. I hope I've not offended you in any way. You seem very angry and I don't wish to contribute to that. I pray you will be blessed and find peace in your heart.

The "Christians" depend on false religion, superstitions, and keep their religion mysterious on purpose, since all they use is the Bible. So, since they confine themselves to the Bible as the only source for doctrine, they are left to only what the Bible says to determine what their doctrines are. Yah, I know I'm being repetitious, but you have to use circular reasoning to understand the Christians. If a doctrine is not in the Bible, then it is a mystery that they will spend their entire lives trying to find in the Bible.

If you want the truth about the principles of agency and consequences, and all things pertaining to salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, just go down to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where all the Saints are. And forget the "Christians." The Lord used the Chrisitans to establish the means for the Restoration of the Gospel to happen, but that's all they were good for. Their doctrines were always an abomination to him, but the opened up the eyes of nations slowly until America was established--a place where men were free to worship God as they wanted. And only in such a place was the Restoration of the Gospel (as prophesied in the scriptures) able to happen.

And all the vain traditions of the Christians now are exposed for exactly what they are.

Yes, I'm a little ticked off at the Christians... for ruining the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and turning it into superstition!

Wow! I'm glad I'm Catholic. The Catholic Church doesn't teach that.

EDIT: I have looked it up, and found it false. (I was rabidly anti-Catholic before I converted, so I know all myths, misconceptions, and downright lies.)

I can't prove a negative. The onus is on you to find an official Church document stating that people can be bought out of the Hell of the damned.
