No, and no.

No. The only case where I could think it would be ethical to report someone for not agreeing with you, is if your question was something like "Don't all races deserve respect?" And someone disagreed and answered in a racist way. Then they could be reported for racial speech.

The same with a sense of humor. As long as the sense of humor is non-offensive, I see no reason to report it.

You can't expect people in general to be ethical. Especially when it comes to discussing religion -- and those who don't exactly agree with their point of view. People are stupid, mean, and vengeful ... that's why it doesn't surprise me that so many people get reported. Especially when they can report anything under the sun anonymously.

I've been arguing for weeks that the system of "community violations" around here needs reforming ... and quick. There need to be people who actually read people's questions and answers and determine what context they were intended ... not just someone who deletes everything that gets flagged.

Reported.

I have never reported someone for not agreeing with me ... they might get a thumbs-down lol, but not reported. The only time I report people is when they are horribly rude to the point of violating the community guidelines.

If someone is joking, they generally end it with "lol" or "j/k" or something that lets you know they are kidding. But "humor" can be misunderstood by some and has to be plain or it might be considered offensive.

Of course not, but a sense of humor is subjective and it is hard to convey in the written word.
I have a dry sense of humor and I hold it back now-a-days because some take it as if I mean it.
We are all too sensitive today. Lighten up a little.

ANSWER: It is only ethical to report violations of the guidelines. Also, anyone who consistently reports outside of the guidelines will ultimately have their entire Yahoo account, including email, 360, etc., disabled.

From Yahoo Answers Admin (Jane):
"We don't punish anyone for reporting abuse when they see it. In fact, it's something we encourage since users like yourself are a tremendous help in keeping Yahoo! Answers clean. However, reporting without regard to what content is in violation of the Community Guidelines, especially if targeting a specific user, is an example of features misuse and may lead to action taken on that user's account."

By the way,

In this forum there are too many who think chatting, exceeding the 1000 word question limit, giving one word answers, posting "I don't know", "Beats me", etc. as an answer, etc., are O.K. But all are violations that are reportable.

Review the guidelines:

I do not think it right to report someone if they do not agree with me- however if that person is being repulsive in their language, or using language that insults then yes I will report. I do not look at what they believe, I look at how they treat others. Racism, and nasty language is reported immediately. I am a Christian, but I would never report someone because they did not believe in God or the God that I worship.

Not agreeing...no.

For ridiculing maliciously...no

For having a sense of humor...no.

For belittling...no

No certainly not, and its about time Yahoo did something about that.

I could understand it if trolls were getting deleted, (and they are the ones mostly causing problems by deliberately targeting people) but for voicing an opinion that other people disagree with no.
