I work as a bank teller, and I'm always exposed to a variety of new faces. Every day, I meet new people from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, religions, etc.
Every once in a while, I come across certain people who ask me what religion I follow. I'm Buddhist, and I openly tell them so. Immediately, they would begin to quote the bible to me for up to 10 minutes. They would tell me how I would go to hell if I deny Jesus Christ as my savior. They tell me that I live in sin, and that Buddha will never forgive me, only Jesus can.
Instances such as this one has been happening to me more and more often, and it UPSETS ME SO MUCH. I live a healthy lifestyle! I take care of those around me, I love my parents and neighbors, I give to the needy, and I try to make everyone around me happy, even at the expense of my own happiness at times.
I don't understand why i should be going to hell in the eyes of a Christian, simply for believing in a different god.

While you yourself may not believe in the teachings of the Bible, the arrogant Christians who demean you do (claim to) believe.
Just say this, "Matthew 7:3 - Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?
This will shut most, if not all, of them up.
Every mainstream religion teaches some element of God's Truth. Buddhism is no exception. I forget if it's Buddhims or Hinduism but one of those does not forbid belief in Jesus as a Deity. If it is Buddhism, I highly recommend you learn about Jesus, even on a casual level; at least well enough to aquaint yourself with Christian ideals, "proper" Christian ideals.
Going around telling people they're going to hell for one reason or another is not the hallmark of a properly instructed Christian. No one knows for sure where any of us will end up until our earthly life comes to pass. Only at that point will it be too late to change our course. That is why it is wrong for any human being to tell any other human being where they are going in the afterlife.
Our race is not over, and neither is there's. Only a fool thinks they know how it will end.

Tell her she is a some distance bigger preacher than businesswoman if she is so inclined to force away patrons with such threats. She must thank God you stick round! Edit: Alright. If you wish a extra well mannered method of claiming it, provide an explanation for that you've got already performed your homework in this topic. That she isn't going to difference your ideals to any extent further with ease than you might difference her's. You are there to experience yourselves and don't desire to have those discussions always. In trade, you'll hold on being well patrons for her.

What you and the christian need to do is put all religions together and take a look at what you've got. Most times people are looking in a mirror and are describing themself when they say you are going to hell. Each religion has taken a piece of the truth that they can understand and run with it.What matters is the resurrection of the Christ.

Did you see in the news where two different groups of Buddhist monks took to fist fighting in the streets. Some real brotherly love there. Hell is nothing more than the common grave of mankind, it's not a place of fiery torment. People who teach that do not know God or love him, how can you claim to love God then tell terrible lies about him, making him look unjust and wicked?

i will quote Jesus to you maybe this will be of help (in reference to an adulterer who was drug out into the street to be stoned and the religious scholars asked if it was ok since she had committed this outrageous sin) and Jesus said "let ye who is without sin cast the first stone." if there is any more obvious way of stating that us as Christians have no right to cast judgement then i don't know it (well along with the numerous scriptures that state to love one another to Christ which isn't the same as condemning them) i hope that clarifies not why we do it but more proves it is in no way endorsed by our bible.
I believe in supporting others and showing love to them and asking they be open to what i think is a much better\more respectful way of showing what i believe and strongly disagree with condemnation and judgement(as this is not taught by the bible the only one that can cast judgement is God). just so you know

We all believe in something or someone. What is the final goal of your belief? Do you want A good life now and to live eternally or do you just want a good way to live now? Do you want a relationship with the One who loves you or do you just want to follow a religion?
The Bible was written over 1600 years ago. It was written by men guided by God's Holy Spirit. Not their words but, His.
One of the first stories in the Bible, in Genesis, explains man's plight do to disobedience. This is the story of Adam and Eve's separation from God.
Then in the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke or John God tells us how He came to cure man's inability to save themselves from that distruction.
Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. All of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. Just read your local news paper or watch the news on TV. We all posses this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do..
Jesus Christ, God in the Flesh, came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as their Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God.
We are born in a lost state. God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.
Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God and lost. It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him. Prayer to Him and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.
Coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed and repaired relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way.
We can't be religious enough or good enough to please God. It is God, not us, who says that all are lost to go to complete separation from Him, without Jesus.

Look at some of the questions I've asked and the responses I've gotten from some so-called "Christians" on here. I will say, however, that not ALL of the Christians who have responded to my questions have been judgmental jacka$$e$ and hypocrites, some have actually been nice. The majority have not, though.

They do this because they love you. They want you to go to heaven with them. They believe if you do not believe in Jesus, it is difficult to go to heaven. So they do this to help you save your soul. They are afraid Buddha is not the savior so you might not make it to heaven without Jesus. I don't think they want to hurt you. Maybe they sincerely want to help you to be happy someday with God in heaven, and to them Budda is not God. So you must know they do this out of love and not to hurt you.

ignore them, i'm wiccan and constently get told i'm going to hell unfortunitly i don't believe in hell so i don't know how i'm going to a place that doesn't exsist. i think they need to do it because they are insecure in their own faith. not sure if they are right or wrong and the more people they can convience the better they feel about their belief structure. if you are secure in your beliefs then there is no reason to scare people into them. most christains haven't realized that yet.

Once more I see that Catholics have been separated from Christians, are we now a different breed altogether?
How do you know that those who have said this to you were Catholics, did they tell you or did they wear a lapel badge?
It is not the Catholic way to do this and I rarely hear this from Catholics.
