Invincible authority is kind of like mans security blanket....its a sense of security. Man wants to know his place in the universe, he is not content with just living....so we seek out "truth."

Some people are content at accepting that we really don't know much about our purpose, and others fabricate a meaning through religion, or an "invincible authority" as you put it.

All men seek to have an authority over them. A few go nuts for while thinking they can take over and be an authority unto themselves, but they still either serve God or serve Satan by not serving God. Since God is the Ultimate, Eternal, Holy Authority, I figure it's just good sense to serve Him rather than anyone or anything else.

The prophet Jeremiah, at Jeremiah 10:23, wrote: “I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”

Man was not created to govern his life independent of God. Moreover, man was created with a spiritual need. Most right-hearted people recognize their need for a standard by which to live. Citizens of any given country look to that government to set the standard of acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

Persons who are not only right-hearted but conscious of their spiritual need recognize the Almighty Creator as the one who has the authority to set the standard for acceptable behavior and the power to enforce it. Since he is altogether righteous, they desire to obey him.

Because we are not invincible ... we are frail and weak and we sin.

Perhaps you are happy living under your own rules, but I'd rather get mine from the top guy :)

I find this amusing, from cradle to grave we have many in authority over us, we have laws now that have taken away much of our personal freedom and rights, and yet you ask this .

that's the kind of idea that compelled Lucifer to rebel from GOd, the idea of not having to follow God, because of Pride. Pride is the source of all sin.
