Sure they try with Christian rock concerts and everything...but let's face it. Rules and Regulations (ie. the 10 commandments CANT be made cool). America is about individual freedom NOT fictiotious fairy tales to be adhered to. Tell me, does any Christians here believe they are cool? How can you? Some would say you are stuffy nerds who don't know a good time at all...................

why would anyone care if another person thought they were "cool" or not....

"cool" is just a slang term to mean that I have been accepted by a group of people because of my thought, actions, or combination of both

thank God I am cool

Jesus accepts everyone that believes (thought), repent (action) and is baptized (both)

so yeah.... i am cool

So what do you consider fun?
Getting drunk?
Doing drugs
Having sex out of wedlock?
Well it may be "fun" for a season, but what about the friend that drinks and drives and has a head on collision with an Innocent family and they die?
The Person who over doses on cocaine?
Or the aids that you contracted from a sexual partner.
Sure Sin is fun for a season but there will be hell to pay in the end.

I've lived that life and now I am a Christian and I am much happier as a Christian as I ever was as a heathen.

God Bless you.

Salvation is not for WHIMPS!!!!!

cool? you mean you do what ever you want and nobody can tell you don[t do that? is that cool? you are right, christians are not cool. You are cool but everyone who doesn't do what you think is cool is uncool right?
fairy tales--right! good times, sure.

since everyone who disagrees with you is uncool, you must be God man.

rules suck.

like don't murder
don't kill innocent people in schools
don't steal

all those ten commandments are a big uncool drag.
You just want to be free. just do your own thing
do it then dude.

if I eat lots of cake I guess i wont get fat, but I still will anyway.

If you do your own thing, and live like you[re the center of the world, you must be dude.

go for the cool. do your own thing. live just for you dude.
maybe there is no God, and all those uncool christians are wrong.

Just remember the chocolate cake dude.

even if you don[t beleive it will make you fat,

keep pounding it down and your beliefs don[t really matter.
you're gonna b e fat.

just keep living for youself and you will eventurally see there is no god. but if you're wrong you will be very fat and very in hell.

bon apetite chubby!

How can you say or attempt to know what cool is? Let me guess that you're a high school student completely unaware of the outside world. Of course your cool, you live in a world with no worry, no misery, one in which your daddy buys everything for you. And if this is so, what do you know about the inner workings of a man's soul? What do you know about the depths of the mind of a true believer? What can you say or offer or do that will be so enlightening as to make a 2000 year old religion more sound? True, it may not be to your liking, but it had and still has just enough influence to suspend your thinking and make you think that you are indeed superior to it. So I suggest you take your good thoughts with yourself, be proud of the fact that you do not need a book to govern your life, and if you truly wish to be cool, you will let men operate in peace and allow them to make their own decisions regarding life, as you have made your own decision for yourself.

Cool doesn't mean that one has to lower one's moral standards or ignore the commandments of God in some form or another, does it? Most people equate "cool" with sin. Oh, smoke weed and you'll be "cool." Throw a rock and break that window and you'll be "cool." Wear spiked hair, smash guitars, and treat others rude and you'll be "cool." The truth of the matter is, he who lives closest to God is the coolest human being because he's living the commandments of the one single personage that holds the monopoly on all good things...(If being cool is necessarily good.)

I may not fit your definition of cool but I just came from an incredible worship service and my best friend came with me, and we had a great time worshiping the Lord And the pastor preached a sermon that was relevent for Life today. It was fantastic. After the service we almost didn't want to leave because it was so GOOD!

Why in the world would I want to be cool? I mean think about it ... you are only cool so long as you don't sneeze milk out of your nose, or fart in public. Once you do, and those you've sufficiently impressed until now see it, hear it or smell it, you are out - for good.

You claim America is about individual freedom ... but that's only as long as you get to be the one making up the rules huh.

How cool would the world be if we ALL kept the 10 commandments?

No theft, lying, murder, rape, stealing. No harming others. You could leave your car and home unlocked. You could be yourself with no condemnation. You wouldn't need to worry about what people think, and society would not tell you what to think. We would need no cops, no laws. We would all just follow 10 rules and bee 100% free.

Ya, that would really be uncool. Keep smokin!

Conservative Christianity does not intersect with Popular Americanism. In fact, the 2 view appear to be diverging.

You don't suppose to go to church to be entertained.

However, people do relate to different types of music and worship styles.

It is good if a person's parish is large enough so they can have a variety of worship styles without sacrificing the gospel and the worship of God.
