Lately there's been a raft of new housing straining the services in our area and making things unliveable for us. 90% of the newcomers are immigrants. No one wants them (except for the greedy developers). What can we do ?(my hubby and I would like to stay)

The thing needed most now is for you to learn to accept them... Dont bear contempt inside you for others..
You can also move to another neighbourhood or better still to another country..

Ma'am, there's not a blessed thing you can do to keep folks out of your neighborhood who are immigrants...or black...or asian...or latino...and why on earth do you think you should be able to do that? I will say, though, that I suspect the folks moving in wouldn't mind getting rid of you after reading this question you've posed.
Keeping folks out and discrimination or segregation doesn't work and is absolutely and unequivocally evil. Plessy v. Ferguson, thank the Lord, was overturned 50 years ago and we finally began to deal with the effects of 400 years of slavery and segregation and idiocy 100 years after all that should have been dealt with by the Civil War. Although this is prejudice against brown rather than black people, since I'm assuming the immigrants are Latinos, prejudice is prejudice and it's foolish no matter who it's direct towards.
Face reality, common sense, and the Constitution and welcome your new neighbors rather than revert to engaging in the same sort of nonsense the South followed post-Plessy and even post-Brown.
Just out of curiousity --- I'm white as can be, positively pale, but my wife is a Latina born in Mexico and my sons are as much latino as they are white, although they speak English quite well, albeit with a Southern accent. Would you object to our moving into your community or would you object only to the 3/4 "tainted" by that immigration devil?

Depends if they're illegal or not. After all, illegals can have Bank of America credit cards now. Banks might lend them cash from their UNtaxed incomes to buy a house?
Pity the teachers who will be giving their kids special one-on-one tutoring to get them up to reading English at grade level. Your kids will just have to sit and wait.
Pity the bulk of taxes that will be paid to fund their health care while you struggle to pay out-of-pocket expenses on you and yours.
Welcome to the beginning of America's downfall into politically correct hell.

Protest. Fight against amnesty for illegals. Call immigration.
The illegal ones need to be deported, the legal ones have just as much right as you to be there.
