Look Mr. I uderstand the hurt of our vets. I like all others joined voluntarily. I knew what I was getting myself into. I will never excpect any American to run and give me thanks. I will never want pitty from anyone. I like alot of others do it for the country and those who are not able or willing. The Country is in a world of hurt right now. It is a time when we all as Americans need to unite and be one great nation. I love the country. Why? Because Ive been to about 5 different countries. None of them have what we have. When kids cry to you asking you to take them with you, and women want to be with you withh the hopes of Coming to America it is then you realize that you have it good here in the States. That is why I love to fight for this great Country that gives so much. So much that people are spoiled and never realize how good they have it never once think how it would be if they lived in another country.

Thats what hurts. When our own countrymen and women dont appreciate the things they have. I love our vets some have given the ultimate sacrifice. Do you think any of them would say they did it for the wrong reasons? NO we are all prepared to give that sacrifice for our country, our families, for all Americans. Even those who hate us. Its that freedom of speech, religion, for all of our rights as As Americans have. Thats why I love to fight. So that we can all have those freedoms. Someone has to do it. And I feel its me.
***** I had to add this because it didnt let me the first time. Its what I e-mailed a guy. What do you think??

I am a 20 year vet and I am not hurting. I don't depend on the government to support me, sure I have a pension and all the other things I was supposed to get, but by no means do I complain.
Personally I don't care about someone telling me thanks, I saw it as my duty to protect my country. I am healthy, work and try to better myself and my family and don't rely on any handouts, nor do I ask for any.

I understand where your comeing from. I know the feeling. Being a soldier is really what I miss most of all. I understand completely. I was trying to get you to understand that there is really no support when you come home though. No support at all. If there is a problem and you will have one Im sure the Vets get very little support. I can attest to this. I will go all the way to congress, and have done so. I know what your talking about though. Yes, the freedoms we have are due in every way to people like you. I really wish I could join you in the battle field. Remember though this is not a conventional sort of war, and it is a very dirty business. Your going into a battle field where the enemy does not have a uniform. You say you love to fight the same I am sure as me. A warrior. There is no greater honor than to fight in battle. To fight and to conquor those who would have you dead. Come home alive use your head the greatest weapon you have. God I would give anything to draw the blood of the enemy. Bring them to their knees. Show them what a warrior truly is, and where your from the heart of the greatest nation on earth. The son of a Marine. No Im not going to thank you for anything. Do it for yourself not this country. That is what makes a soldier, and the rest comes later. Hero. This country is in a world of hurt because there are no leaders. The marines lead. Its not about what you have its about who you are. Soldier. They dont have the things we have because they are not us. Remember that there will always be a difference between us and them. God, thats what makes the world so great. There are not Mcdonalds on every street corner in Iran.

I feel ya. I want to re-up but to old been out for 20 years and so I'm looking for a job supporting out Troops overseas.
The people of the United States are not behind our Troops as they should be, all they can see is $$$$ signs. During WWII the people of this Great Nation rationed, hauled scrap metal to be made into equipment, and just generally went with out so the Troops fighting the war would have. The bombing of Pearl was as great a loss as 9-11 !! We as a nation bonded together for a while but that has been lost, WE MUST regain that bond and keep it with resolve until we have fortified Iraq, Afghanistan, and any other nation that needs our help.
Please
Please SUPPORT our Troops and Civilian Contractors In Iraq and Afghanistan unconditionally.

You nailed it! About people being spoiled and don't realize how good they have it here. We truly are at war against an evil that must be defeated. And we can do that if we are united as a country, which unfortunately we aren't at the moment. I don't say what I am about to say lightly or without doing a lot of research. It is my opinion that the liberals who run the democratic party today are invested in defeat because of their hatred tword Bush. I am ashamed that they are Americans. To intentionally try and divide this country using lies and half truths to gain political points is an outrage! I'm not saying that Bush or the republicans are perfect far from it I have many disputes with them. But folks this war is real, it won't go away if we ignore it, they have been at war with us since the middle 70's as well as all the free world. We owe our volunteer military the respect and thanks for the job they are doing. Thanks bud for your service and god bless you and all and keep safe. And crush those evil terrorists bas.....!

If this is such a great country why did I have to lie to serve the nation I was born in.I am a berlin vet and was in the infantry and served my full term with honor. I don't even qualify to serve under don't ask don't tell because of being transgendered.America will be a great country again only when all people can and want to serve this country openly and freely including those considered disabled.

You are 100% correct. I enjoy every aspect of my life here in America. I would love to be crucified for this country. It is a shame that most people take our freedoms for granted.
