Averages depend upon the region of the country -- there are some significant regional variations ...

A current example:

Pharmacist = $100.5K
Electrical Engineer = $87.5K

A pharmacist makes much more money than an engineer, to begin with. And I do believe that it pretty much stays that way.

In the long run engineers. An engineer with 15 or so years of experience can easily make 100.000, pharmacists roughly 65k.

Engineers for sure. They can make BIG money, more than Dr's if you play your cards right, and they are always in demand. You just gotta get through the 25 years of college, graduate school, and internships first. Then you can start to work to pay off your $250K of student loan debt. You may turn a profit in your late 40's assuming you are successful, have no kids...nah, if you have desire for it, you will succeed.
